Why do you think I haven't played Skyrim in the past few weeks? At any rate, not everything is a one-shot kill. Most sneak attacks are but if I'm spotted most guards take two arrows and more for other creatures. Skyrim's combat isn't typically what I like but because it's overall such an immersive game, I still enjoy it. I prefer stealth where it's very easy to die, but very easy to kill. Hence, why I find sniping in CoD so addictive. I can get quick kills but if I'm not careful, I'm screwed. Makes it more intense (imo).

What's your ideal form of combat in an RPG?

There aren't really any. I play them because I love the choice, customization and storyline. Fable II had pretty good, yet simple combat but Fable III overdid the simplicity and made it boring and repetitive. Plus the game had enough glitches to give MoHH2 a run for its money.

Well, if you like fairly realistic combat, check out Dark Souls. It's challenging but fair, and the story is rich if you're willing to look for it.

I can say that Mass Effect is one of my favourite games of all time. The second one was great too but didn't have the same overwhelming sense of the universe to me.

I take it you haven't played the third one yet?
If you do, let me go ahead and give my condolences.

I was lent the first and second ones from a friend and I'm assuming him or his two brothers will buy the third and I'll get it from him. Cheap, but I'm a Mennonite so I avoid spending money in any way I can.

If the internet's reaction is in any way indicative of how your experience will be, then be prepared for disappointment.

I read the critic reviews and it was pretty well rated. The user score for MW3 was extremely low because a bunch of trollers/haters. Same thing happened to ME3.

I wouldn't say ME3's user score was low because of trolls.
Most of the 1.3 million subscribers of r/gaming were outraged by it.

People like endings to be "Escape" if you know what I mean. I'm guessing it wasn't.
