Yep, thought the same thing of the colors.  I've played around with the saturation settings and fixed it, though I think it may be a wee bit too dark in the shadows (same video just with different settings):

I used to watch streamers here and there and even though a few of them are pretty entertaining, most dudes on there are retarded and painful to listen to and most girls aren't actually gamers and just make their money by teasing their funbags for a couple of hours. Twitch needs less retardation for those of us that don't want to log in and listen to inane **** most of the time. But some inane **** is okay tho. It's the reason why I still occasionally entertain discourse with Handy about his encyclopedic knowledge of Japanese bullshit  O0

4 wins and some decent losses.  You can skip to about 6 minutes before the stream starts.

You playing ranked mode? It’s getting ridiculous the higher the ranks go. No one lands hot, no one pushes fights. Three squads landing no name zones and battling for a P2020 is lame.

Yeah, ranked.  I'm at Plat IV right now and for the most part you still get 2-3 team fights per game (usually late game) but I have a lot of complaints with the way the devs implemented ranked.  A battle royale shouldn't reward hiding until late game, the RP you receive should be based on kills and/or damage done if you want to encourage aggression.

Yeah I’m grinding through platinum as well. They shouldn’t have called kill points at 5 kills. They should also make the zone more like the Fortnite zones where they shrink in random patterns. It’s too easy to predict the storm ending spots and just bunkering up with Watson and Caustic.

Yeah getting a max of 5 points for kills just feels like they intentionally wanted to punish fighting all game, which seems silly.  How are they expecting people to get better if they don't fight?

And Watson's introduction to the game is almost as bad for the meta as Brig's was in Overwatch.  Just game ruining.

It's hard to watch. I know nothing of this game and I've watched Turbo's vids because it's clear he is good. But man it seems like the game is just inventory control with a few seconds of fighting intermixed.

Inventory control in Apex is a LOT better than PubG. In Apex the game automatically applies the weapon upgrades, and you can quickly see whether the upgrades you have are better, or if the ones you find or loot are better, so you spend more time fighting. I think it’s the best BR out now.

All that might be completely true. It's still not fun to watch. :-\

My thoughts from the video description:

As the title sort of references, once we started fighting we basically didn't stop (if you count poking as fighting which I don't always, but in this case it felt different than the usual poking since its purpose wasn't solely to drain resources from the other teams).  I definitely prefer a non-stop battle like this over the slower games where you mostly play for positioning until final 3 squads.


There's a lot to say about this game, too, but I have limited space and don't particularly want to write out all my thoughts, so suffice to say that there were many things I noticed in game and while reviewing during editing that I could improve on.  Notably I gotta do better at swapping to a weapon from melee, and I think the issue I encountered while pushing the Wraith at the respawn beacon was that I was trying to swap but left clicking too quickly, cancelling the swap and meleeing instead.  Just a timing issue, but if I keep playing and climbing rank small things like that won't go unpunished.  My aim compensated for that mistake, but in higher ranks everyone can aim well too, and right now I'm using that as a bit of a crutch.


Lots of credit to our Watson, of course, for clutching at the end.  I would have been satisfied with a top 3 finish given how much pressure we dealt with all game, but it was seriously impressive to watch that last minute of combat.


I'm thinking the next video I upload might include overlaid commentary, if it has enough content to comment on, so look out for that.

If I may offer a bit of a critique, you could use your grapple a bit more to get around, and help your team get high ground quicker. Having stated that, it was a great game with a lot of intensity. You’re right- the Watson came in clutch. It’s always better when you have teammates that know what they’re doing.  O0

You're right, and that's something I tend to struggle with when playing a utility character like Pathfinder or Wattson.  Often I feel like I'm not utilizing their ultimate effectively, or using it at the wrong times.  Just something that'll take practice to get better at, but since they nerfed Path so hard I haven't really been playing him.  Thinking about picking up Wattson, though, since her ult is incredibly useful (not to mention her tactical).

Oooh I want to play Apex! But I can only assume Turbo is still way better than me at FPS games.

I definitely recommend giving it a try!  It's got some of the best movement and gunplay of any game I've played.

Hard agree about the butchering of King's Canyon.  Skulltown and Thunderdome made that map special.  Not a fan of the changes, and I keep hoping those areas will return eventually.

Honestly, the start of the season was incredibly rough, but Respawn made changes the community advocated for, and now it's in a really good place.  The end of the first split should happen within the next few days, and then ranked will be back on King's Canyon (if ranked is your thing), so now's a good time to check it out.

If y'all are at all interested in catching an Apex stream live, I'm settling in to a schedule where I play Apex Thursday night, Friday afternoon/night, and Saturday afternoon/night.  Other days of the week I tend to play co-op games with Handy and June (primarily 7 Days to Die right now), and I'm planning on doing a Dark Souls anthology marathon stream in the next month or so.

Haha, I'd need to do a lot of setup for a facecam, primarily with getting my grooming back to pre-quarantine standards.  But if I stick with streaming, I'll eventually add a cam.

How ya liking the new update and map?

Honestly I hate Olympus, way too open with too few points of interest, so it's way too easy to get from point A to point B whenever you hear two squads fighting.  Third partying is worse than it is on King's Canyon, which I didn't think could be possible.

That said, I like Horizon a lot and think she's a really well-balanced addition to the game.  No complaints about her at all.  Her passive allows you to bunnyhop like it was at launch so that's pretty cool.

I couldn’t agree more Turbo. I’m literally tired of getting third partied every time I fight a team. Also, I’m pretty sure I’ve fallen off the map one too many times. But yeah horizon is a good legend  O0 lots of swift movements with her.
