heard a lot of good things about it especially from Werner Herzog. I will probably check it out. might need to be in the right frame of mind.

Yeah, no kidding.  I've seen a few that are similar and they threw me in a funk for a few days.  Human beings can be real savages.

Didn't read the article because I've heard of this before, so apologies if I'm just repeating what's in it.


From what I've read about it they're getting the people who actually executed people to reenact the procedures and everything.  They filmed the entire thing under some false pretense, which makes it pretty damn horrifying.  I'll definitely be seeing this one as well.  I feel like there's not enough awareness of the kind of stuff that happens in southeast Asia.

Exactly,  and to add insult to injury, the US allegedly had an influence on a lot of it happening.  Ugh.
