how can you say drift isn't necessary? You spend half you time in a race drifting and turning. And in turns you can build a HUGE lead simply by out drifting your opponent. The speed at which I can drift with the mach bike as opposed to other bikes is most certainly "truly necessary". It is such a big difference in overall track time that it is a must. And speed is just as important. You complain about item ****, but the best racers will build a lead and protect themselves enough to make that not much of a worry. Plus would you rather race well and fight for the lead after items hit you, or stay in the middle of the pack and have to rely on luck and items to succeed? That sounds like a kechua strat if you ask me. And yes I understand that after items you will want to MT instead of accel. so that is why MT stat is also important. It negates accel. stat and when you add to it top speed, that combo pwns accel stat and off road. And I still don't buy the benefit of off road stats. It might help you, but I never find myself off road unless I am hit there by an item, at which case I will MT anyway, which negates your off road stat. Plus, the off road terrain in this game is so slow to drive in regardless of your off road stat, that the benefit is so unnoticeable from a bike with no offroad to a bike with really high offroad. There really is no significant benefit of using that setup.
