...to fortunz for putting all this together. This was a tremendous idea, and never would have evolved without your vision (and disgust with GF).
...to Occie and Ohio. You guys really stepped up in the admin role to get this online. In such a short period of time, too.
Thanks guys! B

You're very kind.
There were a lot of people who contributed to Wii Unite's birth, starting with those who voted, and then those who came to the launching pad at wikidot and helped make some decisions. Ocelotz and Ohio deserve the special recognition you gave them, but lots of potential moderators helped shape WiiUnite however they could, including our own BMan.
Before WiiUnite was even conceived of, EVERYONE in the clan community contributed to help make it possible. All the clans and clan members that refused to bow to the Wii's supposed inferior status and just play CoD4 instead (*glares at Gift*), that recognized it's unique hardware potential (especially for shooters) and endured Nintendo's flawed online structure, and sought out other gamers and clans to compete with... without them, there's no market for WiiUnite. Without them there's no home for core gamers like me.
Now that it exists, all core Wii gamers benefit. Gamefaqs isn't bad, but it's too generalized and too rigid in format for a thriving multi-game Wii specific community, with too much crap to dig through and moderators who don't much care what we need to make our community work. GF was a good birth canal, but it's time we broke out on our own and helped foster one of the most unique Wii Communities in the world.
We unite in the face of criticism from core gamers that don't get the potential the Wii has for core competitive gaming. We unite in the face of Nintendo's obstinate and screwed up view of how online gaming should be structured. We unite in the face of forums that have to cater to every little piece of crap title and bury the good stuff. We unite in the face of criticism of the Wii as a kiddie machine. We unite in the face of forums that punish core competitive gaming and clans. WiiUnite.

Well said, fortunz.
And I agree bman, fortunz deserves all the credit we can give him and more.
And there are so many others who made this possible including, as fortunz said, the whole GF community, as well as the many others besides Occie and myself who worked on this. The staff of this site is filled with people who poured a lot of effort and energy into this site (and even some who aren't on the staff).
I would thank everyone individually but that would take forever and I'm sure I would forget someone. But you know who you are and I am confident that it is evident in the community as well who contributers are. Thank you all and keep up the good work.

WT takes a lot flak, but they've also done a lot for the community. Not to take away from other clans, but since I've done some of my own picking on WT, it's only fair that I acknowledge their contributions towards helping to keep all the clans together.
If it weren't for WT's stubborn insistence on using Gamefaqs as a port of call, I probably never would have joined. Granted I mainly joined so I could return their flames, but hey, whatever works =)
