Yeah, I cancelled Direct TV last week. Between Nflix, PlayOn, and Vuse, I don't need it anymore.

Wow! really? You gotta teach me how to set up all that stuff, so I can eliminate that extra $60 a month bill for Dish.

i've posted about all this stuff for a while K. Playon is a pay to download program that let's you stream a ton of **** on your tv using the PS3 and your PC. I got it for a year for like 10-20 bucks. http://www.playon.tv/playonNetflix costs about ten bucks a month for unlimited streaming and one dvd in the mail at a time. it plays in HD through your ps3 and works great if you have a fast connection and your PS3 is hard wired. wtf is Vuse Greyhound?

Vuze is a file sharing program. My freind larloll showed me. I googled "vuze" and the second or third hit was a link to cnet.com so I went there and downloaded it. Cnet gave it 5/5 stars. You are able to download stuff and share it with "devices" such as ps3 and itunes. It automatically detects what media devices are on your network so just drag and drop. Actually, the quality of stuff on vuze is better than the quality of stuff from playon. http://download.cnet.com/Vuze/3000-2196_4-10295479.html

Nice, lakk, can you sticky this so I don't have to sift through the forum to find it when I'm ready to do it all? Also, wouldn't using ps3 primarily as our entertainment system cause it more wear and tear? I don't want the thing overheating and stuff.

ok, just found out that Cananda just got Netflix w/out a disc before us. but wait, we can use the Canadian Netflix here in America if we want to. we get Netflix w/out the disc next month but if you don't feel like waiting, you can do this: just make a new PSN but make it a Canadian one (you can also do this to download Japanese releases from the Japanese PSN store btw... might help if you can read Japanese probably lol). Then download the new Netflix app to your PS3 and install it and set it up w/ your Netflix account. Then switch back to your regular PSN and you'll have the Netflix option on the xmb and you won't have to use the disc any more. i think there are a few options missing from the canadian xmb option like adding stuff to your queue but you can always pop in the disc or just do it from your PC. if anyone does this let us know how it works. we get the new Netflix xmb option next month supposedly so you can always just keep using the disc until then if you want. you are welcome

We don't have to use a disc for our xbox. Just sayin I am not a fan of the xBox, but its NetFlix setup is really nice. The PS3's disc version is slow and kind of annoying. I'm really excited to see how it is when it goes disc-less.

negative. you download them via computer, then it shares them to the ps3 or something to that affect. Hit up larloll in the members section of WU if you want, he's the one who told me about it. I actually haven't used it in over a month. We just don't watch much TV, netflix keeps us busy when we want. My wife just started watching Lost this summer, and I just started watching NFL again.

yep. she's loving it, I haven't paid much attention. She usually watches it while I play BC2 or during football.
