RECON:

crap I dont even know where to start as I have never sone one of these.

Anyways, I'll just run scenarios I guess.

I like to use semi auto rifles as it suits a long and short range style of play;  Long range as you can hit campers and base spawners from afar, and spot with the right perk which allows other snipers and players close enough to the spotted to get the kill;  Short range for when you want to defend an objective or assist teammates with motion sensors.

One thing I've learned to do, especially in the maps with more natural cover and building cover is "spam" the select button while ADS and surveying the area.  Doing this will usually uncover hidden gems (spot enemies) that are stationary and or otherwise not visible to you or teammates.  The spot is an orange triangle over the head.  When you do get a spot thats in some shrubbery of behind a thin wall, don't hesitate to shoot as you can still hit the enemy and often times kill them.  Also check your radar map often because other players are spotting on your team and may not be able to get a good shot on them whereas you can.  One rule of thumb that I always have is spot first, and then shoot.  What if you miss, or only get one hit and they hide behind something?  With the spot then someone else has the opportunity to finish him off.  Also remember to keep the spots on tanks, choppers, and UAV's. (You can shoot down UAV's on your own with 2 successful shots) By keeping the spots on these will help when you have teammates with RPG's, C-4, and anti tank mines.  You can also send mortars on tanks.  If you get good enough and there is a tank on the move, you can pre determine where the tank will be by the time the mortars are dropping and get the destroy points.

When not in a heated battle and you have a sec or two to regroup, look up to the sky and look for tracer bullets.  (its a bullet that glows and is visible to everyone.  Google it   ) You can usually find where the bullets are originating from and look to that direction and get the spot or kill.  Also, when you have a chance, after using up a few magazines of ammo and recon balls, then look to a squad mate that is running assault (if you have no mic) and hit select while aimed on him.  (if no squad mates running assault then spam select on a nearby teammate.) What this will do is alert them that you need ammo and the ammo icon will flash for you both.  By re-upping on ammo you have more chances to help out with recon balls and spots.  Remember this: ASSAULT IS A RECON'S BEST FRIEND!!! If I could, I'd pay the guys who re-up me.

Personally, my second best friend is my pistol.  I cant tell you how many times this saved my precious life in close quarter combat.  I literally laugh every time I overcome a spraying LMG medic or high powered assault rifle.  Seriously, WTF! Anyways, DO NOT BE AFRAID NOR INTIMIDATED to go into the middle of the map where full blown squads are spraying it up.  Just toss a recon ball in the direction you want to go, look for the red triangle on your radar and go in with pistol blazing. (Or VSS spraying.) Before you walk into a room, just toss a nade in to one of the windows and then go with pistol blazing.  Sometimes if you know there is an enemy squad nearby, then send a mortar strike by them, then quickly toss a recon ball, then toss your nade, and finally go with pistol. (Or VSS, shotty, or semi auto) Doing things like this can get you serious kills and points.

Also, try not to be a burden on your team.  If you get killed alot while doing gorilla warfare, then it's not necessary to respawn on one of your squadmates. You may be able to be a bit more affective from the outskirts by sending in mortar strikes and spotting if you want to do long range warfare.  If you arent set up for long range then start back at your base and try to flank around the objective and get in from another angle.  This will give you the chance to get close enough to use youre recon balls again and your squad mates will be able to re spawn off of you.

So if I think of more then I'll revise a bit, as I know it seemed as if I didn't cover every weapon in detail, but ever since I started playing FPS's, I pick a weapon that I'm comfortable with and works, and I stick wit it. "if it's not broke..."  Tongue

Short edit (since I'm a shotty yeilder now): If I already mentioned thios or something similar, the oh well, BUT, remember this if you're going to run and gun.  If you see teammates running in a certain direction, namely an objective, then throw a motion sensor in that direction they'll be running in.  It acts as a guide, and if they chose to, they can either take out the enemy or flank around them quietly.

Another important thing, (especially in conquest), is when you're gathering yourself and you have a moment to press start, you can look at where you have flags, and where the enemy has theirs.  Look at your squad mates, and the Bluemates (blue triangles that are teammates).  If you see the entire team either running to defend a flag, or to capture one while another is still red then you can go towards the other or defend a different flag.  I can't tell you how many times an entire team goes into an ambush to capture and the enemy just quietly runs to one left voulnerable and captures thus rendering you "spawn trap-able".
if you have a mic, let your squad know that the other squads are taking that flag and that you eother need to defend the nearest one or capture a different one.

In conquest another trick I use is when the game begins and you're capturing your first flag, you can send a mortar strike at one of the flags they're capturing or somewhere nearby when they run away towards the other flag and usually get a few kills or at least some hit detection, and then toss a motion sensor and let the mates clean house for ya.
