I started the Left Behind series but I started to actually think Nicolas would be the name of the anti-Christ. Haha...

I've seen the first and second Left Behind movies. The idea was pretty good but the acting was mediocre. I've read maybe half of the Bible? I have KJV which I enjoy but sometimes the writing is a bit... screwy. So many th's that we don't use anymore. Tongue

Cool

The Hardy Boys and Choose your own adventure books

I liked The Hardy Boys alright, but they never really impressed me.

Ever heard of Encyclopedia Brown?  It's not really a choose-your-own-adventure book, but it's one with open endings which you have to guess what happened before looking up the answer in the back of the book.  I liked those a good bit.

right now i'm reading e.a. poe stories.  when i was reading "A Descent into Maelstrom", I thought it was fictional but it's actually real.  Weird.

The one where the sailor kills the albatross and is plagued by all sorts of ghosts and dookie?  I like that one.

I also really like the one about the orangutan who kills two people and the police accuse a man of the crime.

Poe is probably my favorite author of all time.  I really like The Raven , too, which is saying a lot as I don't really like poetry.

A Dream Within a Dream - Poe

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

My favorite Poe piece. Smiley
