That signing was out of the blue. Philadelphia has put together the best rotation I have ever seen. They make the San Fransisco rotation look like a Double-A squad.

Halladay and Lee are mirror images of each other. Low 90's fastball, heavy use of the cutter, pin point precision and workhorses. They could combine for 40 wins themselves.

Yanks have to be pissed, but at least he's in the NL and won't face them regularly.  I heard Crawford and Lee were at the top of their list, and they didn't get either of them.   Afro

It would of been even more funnier if the M's accepted the yankees trade last year and got Jesus Montero from them and then he signed with the Phillies

I'm still surprised they took the Texas offer, Smoak doesn't seem like he has what it takes to be a good first basemen. The rest of the deal Texas gave seemed rather shitty.

Yanks have to be golden showered, but at least he's in the NL and won't face them regularly.  I heard Crawford and Lee were at the top of their list, and they didn't get either of them.   Afro

I'm guessing Pavano is next on the list. He was a huge bust last time which would probably **** off a ton of Yankee fans.

true but atleast we got something for him, I would of rather had Montero though, when they called Smoak up again towards the end of the year he did show flashes , especially the 3 games in a row with a home run

I question his power. He's still only 23 but he never really hit for much power in the minors and playing in SAFECO will not help that at all.

Also, Mark Prior to the Yankees. This could make for an interesting spring training story.

I would have to call bull shit on those rumors. Cano is a great second basemen and only 2 can even be said in the same sentence. I could see Montero moving for pitching at some point since the Yankees signed Martin and they want Posada to DH.
