Well I wasn't expecting it to be anything more than what you described. You were actually right, it is a good action movie. I guess this is just me realizing that I've had enough of pure action movies.

I can understand that. It really has no other merits than being an explosion-filled fast-paced macho movie.
What kind of movies do you think you'd be interested in?

Well I don't totally hate action but I think i'd prefer a little bit of drama written in there with it. Other than that I really enjoy scifi.

If you haven't seen Firefly, watch it. I think you'll really enjoy it. The best description for it is that it's a space western.
A decent sci-fi movie (completely devoid of action, however) is The Man from Earth. It's gots of drama, some questionable acting from some of the supporting actors, a very compelling story if you're into what-if scenarios.
If I think of anything else I'll suggest it.

Pacific rim was sick in my opinion, but it didn't do well in the states.
World war z was meh.
