I've never played these and they are getting re-released on PS3 with HD visuals this year. I would find reviews myself but I honestly trust you guys more than professional reviews.

Are these worth buying?

Speaking of re-realeses.... they are gonna re-release Resident Evil 4 on the PS3 and 360. I'm definitely gonna get that off the PSN store when it comes out.

As far as Splinter Cell.... i've never played that franchise myself.

I just bought Splinter Cell: Conviction about 2 weeks ago and I absolutely adore the game. It is a different approach from other games. I have only played Conviction though so I can only speak for that game. It's a 3rd person shooter where you are a secret agent hunting down people to find who killed your daughter but other motives are introduced throughout the game. You acquire and upgrade weapons and gadgets as you progress through the game.

The main object of the game is stealth. If you try to run around with an unsilenced AR, SMG or Machine Pistol spraying at people, you'll be dead quickly on the easiest setting. Silencers and melee combat will get it done quickest.

Although there is no actual online multiplayer, the Coop mode is very well done with tons of game modes to play and even it's own separate campaign. There is also some DLC with another Coop campaign and a lot more maps that I have yet to purchase.

I would highly recommend this game if you have a buddy to play it with and enjoy stealthy type games... or even any shooters. The only downside is that there are no sniper rifles but then again, they wouldn't really be helpful in this games' combat.
