I enjoy playing a good soccer game. Been a really long time though. Also, I hate watching sports on tv.
Then why am I the only one who voted soccer?

I don't disagree with you there DDD. However, I am not under the impression that it should be fair. These are ultimately business, and as such should be subject to the whims of the market and all of the factors that go into making the team successful. I would completely agree with you that for the purity of the sport, a salary cap would level the field and preserve those features of the sports themselves. But we are talking about PROFESSIONAL sports here. As such, it really isn't about preserving the competitiveness of the sport, but running a business and promoting a product. If you want a level playing field, you should leave the private sector and follow college sports instead. That is where the integrity of the sport is (or should be) preserved. But in the professional world, noone said it should be fair.
EDIT: The beauty of the capitalistic market, is that if enough people get fed up with the unfairness, they will not support the product and it will force the market to adjust. That is why I am confident the small markets will survive. No big market fans want their team to be the only one in existence, nor do they want the leagues themselves to collapse. So at some point, the market will adjust in order to survive.

Fair enough. Just want to leave this as food for though: Think of how pissed Yankee fans were when they "lost" Cliff Lee. No one turns down the Yankees and their money but when Lee did, hell froze over. Now imagine actually owning a player and having him leave to run New York or Boston and how much that hurts an organization.
Thing is, people have become fed up and it could easily turn into a NHL situation. The current CBA expires in December if I remember correctly and I'm sure owners of small market teams will have something to say. It happened in the NHL, why can't it happen in baseball?

Yeah I hear ya. It's not like I would stop watching if there was a salary cap, or that it would ultimately hurt the sport. It is a mere philosophical difference to me. I actually think we will see a salary cap before long.

To watch Football, to play "pig".
Interesting point and counterpoints. KC currently has the best farm system in baseball, assuming they do trade away prospects, injuries ect... They should win the division in 3-4 years, Agreed?

russell has it all accept the height but yet he is so smart and so determined thet he will become one of the top 10 qb's of alltime, bookmark it

Wouldn't call it a lock but theres a good chance. Assuming they don't make any stupid contract decisions, they should have a few good seasons before the stars are chased to bigger markets.

Being a Jays fan in a division where huge payrolls have dominated for years isn't fun.
I haven't been keeping up but how has Brandon Morrow been doing for the Jays since the trade last year? I was kind of mad that we traded him because he had nasty stuff he just needed somebody to help him with his command

I was kind of mad that we traded him because he had nasty stuff he just needed somebody to help him with his command ERA was far from stellar but it's not like ERA is an important stat. He was the victim of a terribly unlucky BABIP last season but his Fielding Independent ERA (FIP) was in the the top 15 in the majors. He was put on an innings cap last year so his season ended a little early but his ability to miss bats is simply incredible. He dropped a couple MPH off his fastball in the second half of the season and cut down the walks quite a bit but the first half was awful. Still remember watching his 8 and 2/3 innings of no hit ball against the Rays. 17 K's and a 9 inning, 1 hit shutout, impressive stuff.

I don't think he will ever an ace since he can't seem to go deep enough into ball games but he has the stuff for it should he ever reduce his walks to normal levels.
Seattle should have one of the best duos for years to come with Felix and Pineda. Pineda's fastball is downright ridiculous. Needs to work on the change up a bit to get lefties out but once he does that, yikes.

yes I am excited about Seattle's future rotation in the case that the pirates take Rendon in the Draft and then we take Cole , a 1-2-3 of Felix Pineda and Cole is pretty good and if Bedard can stay healthy which is the biggest "if" in history then it makes it that much better

And it's scary to think that Cole could very well be the best of those 4. If only the Mariners had any sort of bats to speak of. Not a huge fan of Ackley. Defense is awful for 2nd base and his bat will be average if he plays in the outfield. Smoak still has some potential.
