Does anyone here own a 360 and PS3? I'm thinking about selling my 360 and all accessories along with my Wii and all accessories for a PS3. I just want a good feeling of what I'm getting into.
What is the PS3's home screen look like compared to the 360? Is it as organized? Does the PS3 update as frequently? Does the PS3 have a type of achievement thing? (I heard of something called trophies before). What's the pros and cons of the PS3 versus the 360 when it comes to online? Ex: lag. Does the PS3 has "apps" such as one for Netflix, Facebook, Pandora etc. ? Does the PS3 have customizable avatars in which you can buy clothes for an such? How does a PS3 friends list look? Is it just a list of names or names over full body avatars (in parties if in a party) like on 360? How are parties on PS3? Can you send a party invite to someone at any time? If so how many people to a party? And if internet is totally free, how many different "gamertags" can you have? When is Sony making their next system? Thank you.

Also Is there like a PS3 arcade where you can buy arcade games? Can you download game demos and watch trailers?

I have both, but got RROD a long time ago. The home screen is super easy and self explanitory. (My 8 year old can navigate it on his own) I didn't like the 360's personally, but things are easily adaptable on any console IMO. It's based on drop down menus so for example if you hover over the controller all of your downloaded games and the game that's currently in the disc tray will drop down. I'd say that the ps3 updates regularly. Maybe once or twice a month. You cant even log onto the internet whenever theres an update until you finish the update. For achievments there are trophies. Foe example, if you win something like 20 matches in a certain game you'll get a trophy. If you win 50 you get the next trophy, and for 100 you'll get another. You get the drift. With things like lag, I don't notice any, unless its a server that's laggy or something, but it's nothing that I've ever fussed about. PS3 does have apps and a PSN store where you can DL a ton of content like movies, music, avy's, games, etc... Ps3 does have avys and another thing like half life where you can walk around, go talk to other people, get a job, have sex, and a bunch pf pther crap supposedly, but I haven't tried it. Heres a small portion of avys. The FL is easy to navigate too and it's easy to send invites. You just hover over a friend and you can send them a message or an invite from the game you're playing. For gamertags, I believe you can have 5, (or maybe only share from 5 accounts).

For the arcade if you are meaning like buying games off the PSN store, then yes. You can buy many different classic games from all of the past Sony systems. As for demos, yes, alot of demos are on the Playstation Store, and trailers, I think so, I'm pretty sure if you go on the internet browser you will be taken to a homepage all with trailers of new Playstation stuff and games. Hope this helped haha. EDIT: Ouch I just saw K's post lol, I got rap ed.

i cant really type much cuz im on ps3 but in all honesty, i think both are pretty equal though i hear xbox is a bit faster online. not sure tho. also, if ur getting ps3 get ready to be jipped on some games, especially cod. some devs OBVIOUSLY have a bias xbox >ps3 but i do believe the ps3 is a tad stronger than xbox so i cant understand why quality is worse.
honestly its the same dookie on both consoles. i just think xbox has more "professional tryhards". it dosnt matter though. if your friends have xbox then keep that. if they have ps3 get that. you'll pretty much have the same experience i believe

Friends are the reason I initially bought the 360 but most don't really play anymore. I just don't feel like paying for internet anymore if the PS3 has virtually the same features plus bluray and slightly better graphics. I also want to get Twisted Metal. CoD is getting annoying, I want something different. I'm going to see how much Ill get for all my crap from GameStop and that will probably determine my decision.

you wont get crap from geystop.
um, well the exclusive games are fantastic but multiplat games are usually worse looking on ps3. if you just want to have fun then ps3 and free internet are awesome and up your alley. plus most ps3ers STILL visit WU so you can chill with us. just be careful with lakkus. he will come onto you

I never owned a 360 but one of my main reasons for the switch from Wii to PS3 instead of 360: -No pay to play...I pay for internet already why pay more (course now Sony has Plus membership...but it's not forced to be online) -Blu-ray + PS3 is now 3D game/movie ready if you have a 3D tv -Controllers (had a PS2 for a long time was used to them) + bluetooth technology (go wireless baby) -ease of upgrading...can 360 HDD be swapped with any brand of mobile HDD?? I think NO, but PS3 can be upgraded that way -the Community...I heard horror stories bout 360 and all the **** talking that goes on and how the user base tends to be younger, maybe because of system price, maybe some other reason...PS3 players tend to be a little older, slightly more mature....I can usually find 1-2 people I get along with per gaming session..the rest get muted or if it's too annoying I just find a different game.

Alright, so with the whole party situation, there is no such thing as party chat in which you can just invite friends to talk and whether your in a game, app, or dashboard doesn't matter? In other words, in games like Call of Duty, you're alway in in-game chat where you hear everyone in the game with a mic unless muted? (Not determining factor just clarifying)
