The only thing I'm not fond of so far are the graphics, but that's just from the pictures Microsoft had on the download page.  Looks a tad cartoonish.  D:
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.   Lips Sealed

DOWNLOADING NOW.

It has a pretty long tutorial.  Don't really have much of an opinion on it yet, because I haven't actually gotten to play it with/against other people.  =/

I did about four quests before I had to quit. It seems a lot like the old version just a little lite. Now I wanna play more to get to the meat of the game but I gotta quit before I get hooked. I did level up a little bit and upgrade my tech some. Seems like a good time waster to me.

Okay, I'm devoting the vast majority of this day to this game.  Bbl gonna make a kick-ass city.

And Lakkus, if you still have AoEII we should play sometime.  Seriously.

Mine downloaded in about 45 minutes.    Evil

I don't like the lame graphics, and the cartoon characters aren't very enticing. "You can use wood to make sandals! I like sandals! What was I talking about? LOL!".. Yeah..

Please tell me these quests are just for the tutorial. I despise quest-based gameplay.

I really hope they are.  I'm not too excited about having to do a bunch of "fetch-and-fight" quests.  I want to build a freaking army, turtle for an hour or so, then unleash 120 Champions onto my unsuspecting enemies.   Evil

we can still play AoEII online? if so, it will have to be a late night thing cuz that's the only time I can devote a few hours to playing without interruption. probably won't take that long against you though cuz I'm sure you can fawk me up.

and what's wrong with the graphics? did you turn up the resolution? or is it just that you don't like the art style? I think it's fine. it's just a cleaner look than the old pixelated version I've played IMO.

I don't like the quest stuff either but I'm assuming that's just the training portion of the game. I could have sworn it said you could build your city and take each other on.

Let me know how it goes today Turbo. Don't get too far ahead of me....  Tongue

I think you can still do 1 vs 1 battles using IP addresses, but I'm not sure.  Though I do know that there are still servers dedicated to hosting Conquerors matches still, and I can look for those later.  And late night sounds good.

I'm not really fond of the art style.  But I'll get over it.  I'm not much of a graphics whore.

Probably not.  I'm still unsure how your city plays into anything so far.  But I've expanded it some.  Built five new buildings this morning, which is good.  Also, the quests get much better, relative to how they started off.  I can do co-op stuff now.  For reference, I'm at a level 5 home city.
