"A coach is a coach" is probably the dumbest thing I've heard btw.

In basketball? Please, they run a set offense and virtually every coach runs a modified version of each others defense. Phil Jackson isn't a great coach because he is a mastermind, it's because he's had great players to coach.

if you think all a coach does in basketball is tell them what play to run, you should probably stop trying to argue. once again, according to your point, it wouldn't make a difference if Joe Dirt or Phil Jackson was the coach of a team, which is retarded.

False. It's not Joe Dirt coaching teams, it's people with various degrees of basketball knowledge, but a coach doesn't change the game like a coordinator in football would.

Coaches do have a bigger role than just calling plays although that's not anything to pick at. They have to deal with time management (timeouts etc), keeping the team focused and calm during timeouts and halftime (although you should be able to handle yourself in the NBA), who to start, how long to play someone, and when to take someone out. Coaches really get to shine with their out-of-bound play calls under a minute in the game.

Although, in the NBA, even if you're a really good coach if you don't have the all-stars you're not going to get that far (unlike in college or lower levels). Paranoid, you said yourself that Byron Scott was a good coach and where is he now? That was all due to him not having a squad. Not taking away from Phil Jackson but he was fortunate enough to have Micheal Jordan and Kobe Bryant, two of the best players in NBA history.

I think home court is very important, if you've ever played a sport you know the feeling of people cheering seems to give you more adrenaline. I don't know maybe it's just me. I'm sure a lot of guys get adrenaline when the crowd boos and wants them to fail more than when the crowd is behind you. It might just depend on the player.

I don't think home court matters in the NBA as much as other sports. Crowd noise isn't a huge issue in basketball as is for say, a QB in football. The real advantage with home court is not having to travel and every home court has that.

I laugh when people say Rose didn't deserve MVP, because they clearly didn't watch all of the regular season and are forming their entire opinion on his flawed performance in the playoffs.
How does this man not deserve MVP?

People were arguing that he doesn't deserve MVP so I addressed that.  He does not suck, he just hit a fluke run.

I have nothing against Rose for MVP, but showing a montage of his best plays is probably the worst possible evidence for MVP.

Highlight Reel Plays =/= MVP
