battery life? how long is the recharge cord that comes with them? can you use them while they are charging?

The battery life so far hasn't been an issue. I used them for about 3 hours last night and it went down 1 bar. So I would say the life is 6-8 hours for sure, maybe more. It didn't come with a charging cord surprisingly but it uses the same one that the controllers use. And yes they can be used with the cord.
Ok, more info/playing observations. Those of you who have headsets probably know this but for those that don't: I find them more useful in SDM since there is less going on, sounds don't blend in together. Here is an example: In Harvest Day, it was 2v2, I ran into a building, up the attic to have a look-see. I heard someone running outside to my left, yes I could tell which side of the building he was running, heard him run into the building and start walking, ever so light were the footsteps. They kept getting closer, and closer...and closer. He stopped on the landing and one round of buckshot finished him.
So, the biggest thing is the small nuances of sounds and the directionality. Also, I kept hearing chickens or doves or something in the background at Harvest Day, found the coop. Did you know there are flys all over Heavy Metal. The first time it happened I brushed by my ear and knocked the headset sideways. So as I said, it's kind of like playing a new game just listening to the sounds.

...I have the wired TB ones. PX21 or something. I like them very much and the wire doesn't really get in the way.
^ This. GH is right about the game being a new experience. Lots more sensory feedback with a good set of headphones.

lol There are also flies in Nelson Bay- which is quite odd, since flies aren't usually around in the winter when there's snow on the ground.

Ok, some new info.
It seems the wireless adaptor that comes with the headset is basically an EMP. Seriously, with them on, all wireless internet in the house in gone. So, I can only use them if nobody wants to use the computer. We do have that special wired adapter I posted about back in January and that seems to work, but otherwise wireless signal is gone.
Oh, and Nelson Bay SDM is cool with the headphones. Between the wind, coyotes, generators and darkness, it's sweet.

Isn't that a good thing? No Netflix on laptops, Wifi stealing IPods or cellphones, or other consoles taking your connection haha. Just be like "I have no clue why you can't connect."

Yeah, I found I need to turn the volume of the game down to hear the mic better, then turn the master volume up. It's basically a balance/mixer thing. Once I figured it out it's been great.

So on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) what would you rate it?
Also are they worth getting?

Overall rating of 9. This based on the fact that the volume controls are sliding tabs (not dials) and can be difficult to adjust while playing. The sound is incredible and I have no trouble with game volume or chat volume; it did take some gametime figuring out how to adjust both mic and game sounds to get a good mix. Are they worth it? I would have no trouble using my $60 gamestop credit towards the $99 purchase again. Nah, in truth, I'm very happy about them; the game is more enjoyable with them on. Also, if I was truly looking to buy a headset soon, I'd pick these over the wired for $79 and the more expensive wireless.

are they tight? heavy? can somebody sneak up behind you with a boombox and a machete and kill you? do they vibrate at all? like could I wear them on my balls and feel them vibrating while playing? how is the build quality? do they scratch easy? is that synthetic leather? do you feel like iceman from topgun? does the mic pivot up and down? is there a quick mute button on them? have you walked in the bathroom with them on yet? I guess I mean how is the range on them?

I couldn't adjust anything from the XMB for this headset, but maybe I should try looking some more.
I felt totally like Iceman and yes, someone could totally have taken me out because they block out a lot of noise, especially with the game going.
As for leather/syth, I assume syth. Oh, and the range, yeah they can be used throughtout our house. My daughter has used them while watching Netflix, walking around a few times.
Syncing them, probably work with a computer since it needs it's USB adapter plugged into the Ps3. I'll have to test a few things, maybe today.

I still think it's too early in the headsets lifespan to accurately rate it. For all we know it could be like Turtle Beaches that only last 3 months then something randomly breaks inside of them. O_o
