Ok, I heard LT nice and clearly; infact he sounded a little bit different.  I little lighter (not higher necessarily), younger, and way more mexican. LOL at myself.  Seriously though the voice quality was much better than before.

As for 7.1 and all that; who knows...

And lastly, I really think you'd be hard pressed to find something to complain about when it comes to audio quality with these. Everything is clear, distinct and crisp.  I have a very nice 5.1 system in my house and these are more immersive because they block out background noise better. So, whether it's a movie or gaming these are great.

I couldn't justify paying for a more expensive headset unless I had lots of money to spend.

To be honest I think the 7.1 headsets have 5 speakers in them for more depth, and the 5.1 virtual surrounds have 4 speakers.

I have Tritton Ax720s and on BF3 you hear more explosions going off than you hear footsteps. And the 5.1s do a great job of immersing you into the gameplay...I'm guessing the 7.1s would be better for pinpointing footsteps since they have one extra speaker in both ear pieces. But like I said, BF has more explosions and you don't need to pinpoint an enemy 100 feet away like you would in CoD. With that said though, the 5.1 virtual has saved me numerous times because I'd hear an enemy coming from my left or behind me to take my tags.

And I honestly feel BC2 had much better sound detail than BF3...But they're both still awesome with a headset. Especially if you like to play at night/morning and don't want to wake everyone with your TV volume being up. Oh and with the $250+ headsets you're mostly paying for the mixamp that comes with the headset because those give more power/depth I think.

Something to think about Lakk, the Sony's are wireless(IIRC) and the TB and Trittons are wired unless you buy the $250 wireless ones. You're always playing with your kids around and they could trip on the cord causing the TB/Trittons to fall off your head. That alone would make me go for the Wireless ones(not even considering they're cheaper Tongue).

greyhound said my voice was sexier than he could have imagined. true story. he came onto me

oh by the way, one bad part about the headphones is that they are not blutooth. they have that damn wireless receiver dongle thing and it takes up 1 of the usb ports.  Undecided

Or because no one likes hearing the bluetooth background noise from people's homes? Tongue

whatever you're happy with. if you want less talky talky slide it up towards the sound only side. if you want more chat then slide it down to where you can hear the person talking better and less in game sound. but if you think you could use a little bit more sound but still be able to hear people talk you might leave the mixer where you had it and turn the volume up just a little bit.

just play around with it and find a setting you like.

personally i always slide it all the way to the in game sound only part. i hate hearing people talk unless its my friends.
