I have to agree with LT, you really do need to mix styles to be most successful.  I usually don't bother moving around because I'll get killed on the move. So I just find a place close to my spawn.  sometimes I get 5 or 6 kills, others I get killed immediately. I actually have tried recently to "play smart".  Look, find cover, fire, take cover and so forth.

A tip for xbow: the high power bolt goes straight as, well, an arrow. very little drop so regardless of distance aim for the head. This allows me to get those really long headshots.

The explosive bolt has quite a bit of lob so it takes a lot of loft to go any distance.

1700 kills with the xbow, LOL!

To turdie's point, with recoil, when you're medium to long range you want to start at the torso area and the recoil will work its way up to the head.  In CQC you can position your reticle a little higher.

True I would always aim high use to moh etc i would aim at head recoil would push my gun to far up an would miss causing death. Or i miss my first shot they start shooting at me and the suppression and flinch would **** me over XD

The thing about the recoil that is very different from BC2 is that you actually have to make an effort to control it. By that I mean you literally have to pull on your right stick in the opposite direction of the gun kick. Aiming low and letting recoil do the rest doesn't always work anymore because there is more left to right recoil as well as vertical.

While I'm on that subject, I'll also point out that different attachments affect different guns in different amounts. Generally though, foregrips help limit the side to side recoil of a gun. If you have a gun that has a high pull up and to the side, the foregrip will help that. At the same time, the foregrip will limit your accuracy at distance.

The laser sight will tighten the crosshairs whlie you're firing from the hip making you more accurate. That's better used in close quarters so you don't always have to bring your gun up to aim.

Heavy barrel will increase your bullet speed making you more accurte over long distances and reducing the lead when shooting at someone far away.

Suppressor makes you silent but makes you less accurate as well.

All things considered, using the foregrip and heavy barrel will make you more accurate overall with most guns. Yes the foregrip has a penalty for accuracy at long distance but the heavy barrel makes up that difference and adds a bit more. Therefore you have better control of side to side recoil AND better accuracy down range.

Now you have to keep all of that in mind when choosing a gun. Does the gun fire fast or slow? Is the map close quarters or long firing lanes? Do you need to sneak around or can you hang back a little, go loud but fight from afar? You have to keep all of that in mind when choosing a gun. And then once you do all that, when firing, remember that you have to make a true effort to control the recoil itself. Pulling down on the control stick is the way to do that as well as burst firing.

I think Joel should lead a boot camp for this stuff. Might have to spend an extra week on vocab for me, though.  Tongue

GGs Red, Crzy and Red's bro.

I'm really starting to like tanking a lot. I think I could still get better though. I get stuck on so many things sometimes lol. But most of all I love trying to shoot down choppers. I freakin' took down at LEAST 4 choppers and a jet in tonight's games. I can't believe how incredibly satisfying that is! I also took a couple of choppers down the other day with rps.

I'd like to show off a little bit now. Cool

It's cool. It was one of those nights that I wasn't a good teammate: I was trying to complete some assignments in my Battlelog. That and I spent some time learning how to fly the jets and choppers. GH joined for about 5 minutes and bailed.  Tongue

Yeah, I really wasn't trying to accomplish anything other than finding a sparse server with aircraft, so I could get my stationary objective, and practice.

I haven't investigated too much, but is it difficult to find an empty server with jets and choppers, so you can practice without some numb-nut trying to shoot you down?
