Ok, I'm gonna say it. The menu, the loadouts for your class; way to much for my enjoyment. You guys know how I like to mix things up, try things out, but hell, I can't even figure out all the attatchments to not to mention they're different on each weapon, and on each team.
And I still don't like that no matter what I try, most of my games are spent in the spawn screen.
So, with all that being said, I don't know if I have the time or energy to figure this game out. I play for enjoyment and as of right now, this game is about 40% enjoyment and about 60% frustration. I'm not going to say I won't get the game because I will, but I'm worried that I may not have the stick-to-itive-ness.
Games have to hook me really fast. MoH2 did, BC2 did and I was really horrible at those games to start, but I loved playing them. If BF3 doesn't, I'm going to be very sad.

Yeah the menu is a huuuuge dissapointment for me. I liked in BC2 where you had 3 perks and about 5/6 things to chose from. Simplicity at its finest.

and switching your specs was pretty simple, in this game I find it very cumbersome.

I honestly have not done much with it yet. I am not used to the buttons so I accidentally scroll through things when I don't need to. It will definitely take some getting used to. I think I'll manage (although I am not want to play around with it too much).
I did like the BC2 ones... they were really simple. I don't really care much to use R1/L1 to be honest.

Yeah the menu had me confused when I first played it, but after 2 hours I got it down. Still annoying to go in and customize your attachments through the Square button. But I do like that it saves your loadouts that you make in there...So I can just make one PP2k class and never have to toy with the attachments unless I unlock a new one. I hate ACOGs and 4x, 8x, whatever power scopes so I never mess with those. Red dot or holo and I'm fine.

I prefer this menu better. The more the better, imo.

Eh I preferred BC2s menu during the respawn timer. The more time you're in BF3 messing with kits and on your attachments screen, the more time you're out of the action and not helping the team push forward.

The issue I'm having, aside from having to press too many buttons in order to get to what I want, is that it's just toooo much customization for me. I don't like that every weapon has it's own different stuff. Like I said, I personally prefer it a little more simple. I need all the help I can get and with all the different attatchments, I just get lost.
I did find I like the two beginning sniper rifles without the scope a lot. I went k/d of 1.0 two games in a row with them.

I guess what is the most confusing is knowing which to use. I mean, how many different scopes are there for crying out loud. And do I want bipod, heavy barrel, foregrip, flashlight, cover, supress, flak, sprint. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh! I'm so confused.
I just want to play, have fun and kill; or be killed fair and square not because I had the wrong combo for the wrong situation.

I think I get what you're saying GH. I understand why they put a bunch of stuff to add on (actually I think its BS though) because it could possibly help out in every situation/scenario. What I think is retarded about that though is the fact that terrain and situations change drastically and frequently so that means that the set up you took 5 minutes to make only works for a few minutes until the MCOMS move back to a different place where the surroundings are completely different and then you has to change the set up again in order to suit the new location. This may only be for the beta map and for all we know the other maps may have a specific theme/terrain. (Remember Aticama desert, Harvest Day, etc...were wide open maps with vehicles and minimal cover where as Arica, Oasis, etc...were more CQC) In these type of maps you could essentially run with a specific class and do well without changing the add-ons.
Anyhow, maybe once we get TDM and conquest back then we'll settle down a bit

I sure hope so.
I just don't know if I'll be so experimental in BF3. I would like to find and all kit weapon so I can be useful as various roles. I hope one of the all kit AR's will be one I like. I don't like playing one specific role but as I said I don't know if I'll have the energy to become a jack-of-all trades.

Brotha, im engineerfag and still do well. Just remember what's important and how to play your roll and you'll do fine. I've found a great set up and don't plan on changing it up much. (How long did it take me to pry away from recon in BC2?) >_>

I know K, it amazes me that you can do that. I switch half a dozen times in a game (BC2 game that is) so this may be difficult for me. I was thinking that same thing that you just said though, I might have to find just one or two and deal with it.
I like playing the assault role, but don't like the weapons. I switched today to recon and had my two best games ever, exactly even kill/death. Just like in BC2 I found the M14 was my savior, I am finding the MK11 and the SVD effective without the sniper scopes.
Maybe I should experiment more with the semi-auto/ auto toggle on the other weapons.

You ate a lot of my ammo when we were squaded, lol. I like when you are engineer, too!
