I used to always defend Nintendo, and have supported them since I understood what "supporting" meant. Up until a couple years ago when they started failing...
I don't care enough to make up some stupid argument arguing against something stupid. Sounds like a waste of time to me, motion controls are just dumb.

So I'm going to go ahead and tell you my goal.
You say: Yes, I hate motion controls. Should they die out because I hate them? No.
^ that would at least be a logical statement. Just because you hate something doesn't mean it needs to die out. a LOT of people like motion controls hence the wii's success, why the 360 has a Kinect (lololololol) and the PS3 has the Move. All the major console companies have seen a value in motion controls, so obviously it is not a "fad".
If that were to be the logic you could have said when the N64/ps1 came out that joysticks were a fad since they were new but been implemented. However on the N64 not all games used them (I say that because Kirby and the Crystal Shards didn't..)
Do I like motion controls myself? No, not really. They can be a rather pain in the ass to deal with.
Are they still fun on occasion? Yes.
