I have to admit that I'm rather disappointed with the graphics. They looked really good and crisp on all the youtube videos but they're actually really soft and somehow, not as good as BC2 I think. The campaign looks better but on mp they do look watered down and pretty much just like the beta except without the bugs and those HD textures.

The gameplay itself is top notch. Never really doubted that. I knew immediately from the beta that they were aiming for a different feel compared with BC2 and I really don't mind having to relearn a lot of things, especially the vehicles and more so the choppers. I think the way you play takes skill, good team communication and coordination and some thought as people will learn your patters and stuff. I always found action and was never too far away but that being said, I would go entire rush rounds with only 4 or 5 kills. I don't know what to think about that. I got better scores by playing my role instead of getting 30 or 40 kills like in BC2. I guess they shifted focus a little bit.

I do like the game but it's still disappointing to get hyped over the graphics and then get something less than crisp. I guess that's my own fault though.

So what if the graphics aren't as good as you thought they were gonna be. As long as you enjoy the game  Afro

No definitely not.

You know the feeling when we got MWR on the Wii? You see all the badass graphics on the PS360 and then when you play on Wii its slow and watered down. It's just like that. I know it was dumb to expect PC quality graphics on the consoles and I knew it wouldn't ever rival that but it feels so watered down and slow.

I think it a lot better on the campaign though. I was watching it while waiting in line and it looked really good so I figured multiplayer would look just as nice.

I heard the campaign sucks in BF3 and it tries to copy Black Ops. I think ign said that in their review, but the multiplayer is obviously its selling point. So even though the graphics may look better in campaign, it's not quite as fun.

I don't doubt it. DICE is pretty new when it comes to campaigns. I'm not making excuses either. I don't like their stories because they suck. The only reason I liked BC2's story was because the characters were pretty funny.

Anyway, you're right. It looks better on campaign but is actually fun on mp. Just dont make the mistake of thinking that it's visual garbage either. The graphics are actually pretty competent especially considering the size and amount of detail in every map and the age and low power of the technology running it. Probably the best thing visually is the lighting. They got that **** down and I'm very impressed with that. Honestly it's impressive and disappointing at the same time for me.

No beef with the graphics.

I love everything about this game.  If I wanted crisp, cartoonish graphics, I'd buy MW3.   Undecided

I just want to know, if the health/damage is still the same as it was in the Beta, or did they scale it back to be more like BC2? And how are the jets but I know no one flew since you probably have 11 guys sitting right there on them....

The damage is scaled back like BC2.  I haven't had a chance to fly the jets yet.  The choppers are more difficult, IMO, probably because the controls are slightly different for pitch, roll and yaw.  That's going to take me some time to get used to.

I tried the jets once. The controls were very sluggish. I shouldn't have played Ace Combat because now the BF3 jets suck ass in comparison.

I never got killed by a chopper or jet so they were just an afterthought for the games I was in. Everyone is still learning them. It won't be long before we experience games full of chopper/jet hoars.

To me the damage seems the same as the beta.  I had a few WTF moments where I was positive that I head shot'ed for the kills and ended up dying (like BC2.) Undecided

The reason I have less "dissapointment" is because I went in not expecting it to be anything like BC2 (because it SHOULDN'T be)  The BC series is about a group of AWOL's and their story where as BF has its own identity.  If I have one beef so far its only the huge scale of the maps.  You die by sniper fire from so far away that you have no chance for the kill with an AR because they're out of range.

You're right about the damage. They didn't change it at all from the beta and it is actually a little bit less than the damage in bc2. JD, the reason it feels like they scaled back is because there was a glitch in the beta where you would get 90+ damage if you were moving. 2 shots and you're dead. They fixed the bug but didn't mess with the damage model as far as I know. It takes around 4 or 5 bullets to kill you which is quite nice actually. It's still a fast death but you have time to react.

The damage is fine Crzy.

Sorry, that is what I was referring to by the damage being scaled back.  It's not 'instant death' like the beta, but it did appear to by slightly more than BC2, IMO.
