LT, you're doing lifts like a bodybuilder, not like someone who wants to maximize their athletic talents.
You should lift 3x a week. Don't do too much weight. Listen to your body.
You can do legs on each of those days, but focus on quads one day, hamstrings the next ,etc. I would combine back/biceps, and chest/triceps, and shoulders by itself.
Pick 2 upper body exercises on each of the three days with those muscle groups. Pick 3 lower body exercises.
You eventually want to build to heavier weight, lower reps (for fast twitch muscles), but I wouldn't recommend that now. Just start light on lifts like squats and deadlifts, and once you think you have the form down, you can move the weight up a bit.

man, I'm going to have to rework my routine then. I actually thought I was doing pretty good. I actually did start with very low weight (40 lbs) and recently did 2 workouts with 60lbs. I only increased it because 40 wasn't really doing anything for me anymore.
How would you define "low" and "high" weight in terms of what I'm supposed to be doing?

low is a weight you can lift for about 15 reps or so high is somewhere around 3-6 rep range imo. Legs its best to do higher reps imo and more volume. How much weight from a pure muscle building stance is overrated its all about time under tension, volume or sets and integrity of the rep. Meaning good form and so forth. Remember the eccentric part of the rep is the most important thats where the muscle fibers get broken down. Meaning on the way down go slow its not about just getting the weight up controlling on the way down is more important.

Is it good to take like a fuckin week off or something. This whole week I've been pretty sore, especially my legs, and it's hard to muster up energy for ****. I'm wondering if I should take like a week without lifting and let my body heal up.

alright then. next week i ain't doing ****.
what kind of food should i eat post workout? a few weeks ago i literally ate almost a pot of beans (inb4 beener) by myself after doing legs. woke up thinking i was going to be sore as fawk but it wasn't bad at all.

-Eggs -Chicken breast -Vegetables/Fruit -Almonds -Peanut Butter -Dark Chocolate -Rice -Beans
