I've been really trying to find a gun in the support class that I like, so far none really stand out.
The first two LMG's, each team specific are basically Heavy Duty M416 USA and Ak74 Russia. I actually haven't used them since the beta so I probably should. The M249 is maybe the best assault type weapon, use with foregrip/HALO/ and Laser sight. The PKP Pecheneg (650 rpm) and M240 (750 rpm) seem really similar to me despite the rate of fire. They use the same size ammo. They sound awesome and kill quickly when/if you can hit your target. They are fun to go prone, prop them on the bi-pod and camp a hallway. I really need to use the M240 more though I only have about 10 kills with it. I don't care much for the T88. M60 is next, which according to battlelog weapon info is being replaced IRL by the M240. I'll report some more.
As a whole, they are very inncacurate, especially on the move but as I said, they are entertaining to play with if you can find a good spot to prop the weapon and hold the line.

totally forget to mention it if you don't know this already. Support class is of course ammo, but you also get to choose between C4, claymores, and mortars. I find claymores very effective in TDM.

This is pretty much the only use ive had for them. i just prop them up on something and fire away at entire squads but end up raging when it does nothing and everyone is too chicken shiit to go out and kill them while they are supressed. Usually I just end up playing the engineer and globe trotting the map. i feel that people are too stupid to realize when they are being flanked so i need some serious firepower to compensate for peoples innate stupidity.

More input on LMG's I have the same amount of kills with the M249 and M240B. Accuracy is better with M249 by 1.3% and kpm is exactly the same. I do however have 14 headshots with the M249 but 34 headshots with the M240B. What does that mean? Who knows. Also, I played some more with the T88 tonight, still horrible. Despite it being my highest in accuracy of the LMG's it has horrible recoil and seems way innacurate and almost impossible to kill with. A couple more hours and I should have the M60; of course if I keep uisng the T88 then it may be forever.

see i KNEW from the start that you were going to like this game. you were always tinkering around in bc2 with all sorts of loadouts trying to find out what works best and all the stats for the guns. that was a more limited game. this game is way bigger and has tons of options for you to mix and match.

LOL! Yeah, once I got used to the visuals, at least most of it anyway, I've been enjoying it most of the time. I actually don't really like the LMG's too much, I miss my target way to often. The PP2000 is too underpowerd, so I'll try the UMP once I get to 100 kills with all the LMG's so I can really judge them. I take that back, the M249 is pretty easy to play with. Just don't use the T88, ever!
The reason I play support is for the ammo boxes and the C4.

you do know that the pp2k is considered to be like a machine pistol right? at least thats what i read somewhere. it would make sense that its so weak and requires 2000 shots to kill anyone.
that ump will probably suit you well. i think its one of the best guns in the game. as for the lmg's, i dunno man.

OK, final input here.
M27IAR, M249, and RPK-74M are probably my favorites.
M27 "feels" the lightest; more like a typical AR and only holds about 45 rounds but pretty accurate. I usually use the bipod over foregrip. 750rpm
M249 seems to have little recoil but "heavier"; deadly with 800rpm and 100 rounds; I still use the bipod here. In fact, you can hold a corner/hallway pretty good with this thing if you go prone. So yeah, I sometimes camp with it.
RPK-74M has a lot more recoil, fires slower: 600rpm but i seem to get a lot of kills with it. So while I don't necessarily "like it", it seems to like me. I use the bipod, but maybe the foregrip is better for this one.
So there you have it, M27IAR and M249 are probably my favorites.

MG36 is probably better than any gun mentioned in this thread. I unlocked it last night and my first time using it i got 3 tripple sprays in the same game. Ended 38-3.
Claymores are very awesome to use. Place them right inside a doorway and let an enemy run right through and get da buizness!!!

seany, you've definitely been around the block with these guns. i just thought that as i was looking at your posts.
i think i got like 60 hours in this game and im still mostly using the very first few guns you unlock. i haven't touched any of the more advanced guns and can't seem to even remember that i have some of those "assignment" guns unlocked too.
im going to make it a point to mess around with the other guns i have. it feels like ive barely scratched the surface of this game.

Haha yeah Claymores are awesome on Metro and Seine Crossing...Metro can sometimes be hit or miss but Seine is almost guaranteed kills. Nothing like placing a claymore in a tight corridor or staircase on the opposite side of the map, then seeing a kill from it. Got a Triple with 1 claymore one time.

I tried the MG36 for a bit but didn't have too much success with it. Let's not forget, 10 kills in a game is pretty good for me; not sure why but I just can't seem to kill people much. I unlocked the PP19 and really like that gun a lot; but it's not an LMG so I'll keep it out of this post.
Claymores, LOL. love them. funny though, I've only been killed by them a couple of times. Nobody seems to use them.
