Seriously. After the suppression update, you can own whole squads at a time. I haven't noticed anyone dominating me, but with an LMG I go about 3:1 each match. You also get a ton of suppression points (50 for minor, 200 if you're really obscuring them. Just go grab an LMG and focus on suppressing enemies for your teammates.

I could see how it might be overpowered but in all honesty, that's what it was designed to do. You're supposed to be able to bipod up in a corner and hold an entire group back with suppression.
I don't mind it too much but I think they will be nerfing the suppression effect in the next patch. I know a lot of people complained about it.

Yeah, I agree it should be effective, but they went about it all wrong. There's no reason for a bullet to go anywhere other than where the sights are unless you're shooting a hurricane at them.

I don't know man, I was typing from the PS3 and it's a bit more cumbersome. I guess I hit the modify button by mistake and once you type and press enter on the ps3 you're totally fawked.
Anyway, yeah I can agree with that I guess. In any case they are supposed to be fixing that so we can expect it in about another 4 months or so.

Ok, I've got to chime in here. I have about 60 hours on this game and about 58 of them are with support class. I've played about 2 hours since the patch and i have to say, the LMG's are worse than before. and the PP2000, I can't even use that thing anymore. I don't know if something bizzare happened on my update but I feel the game is way worse than before; especially the guns I used to use: The IAR27, M249, M240, PP-19 and PP2k. I used to switch between them and now they just don't seem to work at all. I've never been good at the game, but now I'm even worse!
As for the bipod, that's one of the few parts of the game I actually like. As lame as it may be, it's fun to me to prop the M240 on the wall and fire away.

You might just be using it wrong. Before the patch they were basically just beefed up ARs with more ammo. Now they actually serve a purpose. The way I play is pretty much just suppress suppress suppress. You'll do better laying down continuous fire than you would burst firing, because when you burst you give the enemy a small gap between suppression in which they can actually hit you. If you suppress them, their only options are to either run to cover or try to fire back and get mowed down.

The new patch is the reason why I stopped running Squad Flak and almost always run Squad Cover now. It sucks losing a gun fight just because your screen got blurry/accuracy drops. I don't think the support class is OP though since the guns are still inaccurate when you're not bipoded down.
Grey, try taking off the foregrip. I used to run it for every gun and now I usually take them off since it tends to give more recoil now. M249 seemed to be one of the best ones that I've used so far...M60 was also pretty nice. Still haven't tried the MG36, PKP, or M27 though.
If any class is OP in the game, it's Engi since it can deal with every situation on the field. Their only drawback is they need ammo for those Stingers/RPGs/Mines.

I run M249 with iron sights and a bipod. I really don't have much trouble with firing normally. You just get used to it.

A gun that is pretty badass after the patch would have to be the SKS. Its like an AR and makes the recon class fun to use.

I probably need to try other classes. I like being "the ammo guy" so that's why I played support. I should try the others. As for the LMG's I don't use foregrip; I use the bipod instead. I'll have to read the update again, it said something about initial recoil would be increased I think, and that makes burst firing a problem.
What I really want is an all kits weapon like the M14 from BC2. I do so much better with that type of weapon.

Well the personal defense weapons are all kit but I don't know that any of them work at long distance. I know the P90 is a beast though. If you're a close quarters kind of guy you should try that. It has a pretty high magazine count too so no problems with having to relaod in the middle of a fight.

The P90 is OP. Please don't use it. There's no way to overcome it in a fair fight. The UMP (at least when I used it before patch) is still awesome but not overpoweringly so.
