Hey guys, I'm opening up my PS3 to give the side air intakes a good clean and I think I have to eject my hard drive. I don't know about these things much but is there any danger or fuckin it up if I do?

I really don't think anything would happen; I don't think it would on a PC. Still, I'd wait for a few more replies.

As long as you don't drop the hard drive or something, you'll be fine. Hard drives use non-volatile memory, which is just a fancy computer term meaning they will retain whatever information they have regardless of if they are removed from a power source. So yeah, you're fine.
If for some reason you aren't sure how to remove it (it's pretty easy and you're competent with tools and stuff), here's a tutorial:

Yeah I actually figured it should be safe. I don't know too much about computers but we did take an electronics class in tech school and learned about different types of memory and how computers are used in cars. I assumed and HDD shouldn't have volatile memory or it would defeat the purpose. It was a breeze to take apart, clean and put together again. The longest part was going to Walmart and buying the compressed air. Thank you for the help. You're both gentlemen and scholars.
