I'm going to share what I know.  I have done so as politely as possible.  I'm sorry if my knowledge offends you, but there is nothing I can do about it.
Dayum have you ever been laid??? "I'm sorry my knowledge offends you, but there is nothing I can do about it?" And you don't think you sound like a little B***********. It's not your knowledge that offends me, it's your stupid ego phrasing.

That was basically what the link I gave you said?Huh?

Your link is a compendium of anonymous people arguing essentially the same thing.  It proves nothing.

You haven't provided me with a citation that the brain is the same thing as the mind, so if my website isn't good enough for you, then stop being a hypocrite.

Here's a study done by Boake and Diller in 2005, relating the effects of brain trauma to changes in the intangible mind, specifically speech.  The important part is that physical changes, whether by drugs or injury, affect the mind.  If the two were not intimately related, we would not see that relationship.

You're reading far too much into what I'm saying.

OK, maybe separate is a bad word, I more-so meant they are not the same.

Turbo, you haven't pointed out any flaws in the logic.   The logic remains, you did nothing to refute it, sorry.  Saying it matters whether you know if god cares you believe is irrelevant.  If god does not care you believe, and you did, you have lost nothing. If god does care and you don't you lose everything.  This be my last post on the subject though, I don't see the point of rubbing it in.  Great topic though, nice to debate tough subjects with smart people.

Skimming it would suffice.  Or you can trust that it is what I said it is.

Well yeah, of course they aren't the same.  My stance is that they are very, very related, to the extent that you can't have a mind without a brain, and that the state of the brain affects the mind.

Seems like it was a simple misunderstanding.

That's not what I said.

This was beside the point entirely.  It is only tangentially related to Pascal's Wager.

At bold: Don't kid yourself.

Before you excuse yourself, answer two questions for me:

- There are thousands upon thousands of gods created by humans.  Many of these promise eternal life if you believe in them, and threaten you with eternal damnation if you don't.  How do you pick which god to believe in?

- If "God" is omniscient, then would he not see through your intentions of claiming belief only for the sake of not going to hell?  If that is the case, what is the point in claiming such a belief?

I get the feeling you didn't read the Wiki article at all.

God might not be omniscient?
AND I do not believe in eternal heaven/hell.

Again, this isn't about your beliefs.  This is about Pascal's Wager.

In case you're not familiar with Pascal, he was a noted Christian apologist.  That's important, because his wager deals with the Christian God, who is supposedly omniscient and will send you to heaven or hell based upon your belief or lack thereof.

Well, maybe Undr only agrees with part of Pascal's argument? He doesn't have to believe God is omniscient or that God sends people to Heaven/Hell either. Yes, it's about Pascal's argument, but there have been many instances when intelligent people make a claim and are only half right or partially right.

If that's the case then we're bloody well not talking about Pascal's Wager, are we?

Undr invoked Pascal's Wager and that's what we're discussing.  If he wants to make adjustments to it to the effect you're suggesting then it isn't Pascal's Wager anymore.

If you took that seriously, get help.

Another reason you're not saying anything; you can't defend your primitive beliefs.
