CoD4
Major Pros: Maps are great, guns are almost perfectly balanced. Snipers work, Sidearms were only pistols.
Major Cons: Grenades, Frag x3, Martyrdom is a perk, Last Stand is a perk, no host migration. No reason to prestige
Minor Pros: Quickscoping took skill, SoH is in SP slot, UAV Jammer was balanced, C4/Claymores/RPGs= perks.
Minor Cons: MP5/M16 are borderline OP, Juggernaut, LMGs are almost all clones.
WaW:
Major Pros: Rifles took a lot of skill. Snipers were perfect, sidearms were only pistols. Maps were amazing, and benefitted snipers to furthur balance the game, No fire cap on semis (until patched), knife sucked
Major Cons: Mp40, Martyrdom is a perk, Second Chance is a perk, tanks (removed for SnD which is awesome), no host migration.
Minor Pros: Machine Guns were all unique, snipers could be used without a scope, SoH is in SP slot, betties/satchels/bazooka = perk.
Minor Cons: Rifle Grenades, RoundDrum/BoxMagazine on SMGs was a bit much, shotguns were not very good, juggernaut, little reason to prestige.
MW2:
Major Pros: The shotguns are actually good, a lot of guns are so OP that they balance each other out. Most maps are great, and work for snipers, best looking of all 5, runs the smoothest aswell. C4 is better than all equipment, but is the least used.
Major Cons: Shotgun secondaries, Grenade launchers, way too high killstreaks, killstreaks unlock more killstreaks, OMA replenishes explosives, commmando, knife was already too good even without commando, scavenger replenishes explosives Machine pistol secondaries, launcher secondaries, SoH Pro makes Quickscoping WAY too easy, SoH has no major competition for noobs, stopping power with no jug to balance, danger close, last stand is a perk. Hardly any patches/post-game support
Minor Pros: Handguns were actually a good backup, throwing knife. Callsigns, host migration (it wasn't that great though)
Minor Cons: UMP, ACR, M93R, G18 akimbo are too easy, LMGs are almost all clones, scrambler is actually an anti-perk, heartbeat sensors deathstreaks, little reason to prestige
BO:
Major Pros: Pistols are awesome, Flak jacket negates almost all explosives, second perk tier is balanced with good variety, Tomahawk is awesome, better than throwing knife, killstreaks don't stack, good private match customization. Combat record is public, host migration worked well.
Major Cons: SoH is the only thing noobs use in second tier, FAMAS/AUG, motion sensor, CoD points buys too much (mainly camos) Buying perks and killstreaks in any order destroys balance. Snipers don't work very well (2 reasons: bad maps/random sway), bad hit detection occurs sometimes, Assault rifles tiers are spread out too much. SMG tiers are spread out way too much.
Minor Pros: Ghost is balanced by Flak Jacket, ballistic knife and crossbow. maps are alright. Only some are really good. Only 2/3 are good for snipers. Wager matches added a bit more variety. Custom emblems, decent reason to prestige, LMGs are unique.
Minor Cons: AK74u, Galil, Ghillie suit isn't for snipers, it's for ghost, pointless customization (face paint, reticles) pointless attachments (var. zoom, flamethrower, shotgun), launcher secondaries, shotguns should be a little better.
MW3:
Major Pros: Specialist is amazing, lots of post-game support, C4 is better than all equipment, but is the least used. Pointstreaks instead of killstreaks. Great private match customization, lobbies usually stay in tact. ( no host migration?)
Major Cons: Lag compensation, Using QD Pro to make Quickscoping too easy again, Stalker is OP. Almost no perk balance aside from tier 3. WAY too many killstreaks. Killstreaks stack. Sleight of Hand has no competition in tier 1 (for noobs) Too much pointless customization (T.I. scrambler, EMP Nades, hybrid sight, shotgun, thermal, etc) Assault rifle tiers are too widespread. You have to get damage for shotguns to work. Dead Mans Hand, machine pistol secondaries (and akimbo, wtf), maps are almost all bad, and none of the maps allow snipers to be used properly. Maps are way too focused on CQC. Sitrep pro counters dead silence after patch (slows game) This game looks worse than BO and MW2. wtf
Minor Pros: Blind Eye is separate from Assassin. Good sniper variation. Throwing Knife.
Minor Cons: Type 95, FMG9's, ACR, MP7, PP90, striker are all too easy. Prestiging is almost useless in this game, you can get all 10 classes after 1 prestige. Callsigns were less customizable than MW2. wtf, Assassin is pretty much necessary. Gun proficiencies make the game even easier. LMGs are not unique at all. Deathstreaks, launcher secondaries.
