Not quite a movie ... but the FX series Fargo is pretty intense.  There's only 2 episodes out, but so far so good.

Nice casting getting Billy Bob Thorton and the guy who plays Bilbo Baggins in those Hobbit movies.

is it any good? I saw that on Netflix last night and thought about watching it, but I haven't seen the first one so I didn't watch it. Do I need to see the other one first or are they not related in the story?

I don't really remember the first one all that well but they're both good watches. You probably don't have to see the first one since they kinda explain stuff at the start of the 2nd one.
