Here's how I look at it, either Wilson is an average QB or Terrelle Pryor is a Top 5 QB  Roll Eyes

Now before you shove stats down my throat, I think I will first.

We can talk about yards all day but you're right, yards don't quite tell the full story, so let's go with YPA. You know what YPA is right? of course you do! because it's the only stat you use to determine how good a player/team is. lol

Russell Wilson 7.96 Yards per pass attempt

Terrelle Pryor 7.69 Yards per pass attempt

Now I'm sure that .27 yards sort of matters on the grand scale of things... like that's a whole 5.4 yards more than what Pryor would throw in a game. that matters! (sarcasm)

Hopefully Terrelle Pryor makes up for it in the run or else he's going to be a free agent for sure next year :/ actually, let's take a look at the yards per rushing attempt stat now! They both pride themselves in the run so what would it hurt?

Russell Wilson 5.6 Yards per rushing attempt

Terrelle Pryor 6.5 Yards per rushing attempt

oh, yikes... You mean to tell me that Pryor runs for nearly a full yard more than Wilson does every time he runs the football? That actually kind of matters... to a point. I still don't think the margin is big enough to say who is better or not.

So now that we've determined that they are almost the same on YPPA and YPRA let's talk about accuracy...  you have told me before "Pryor isn't accurate in the pocket or on the run"

Russell Wilson 61.5 percent

Terrelle Pryor 64.5 percent

whoa, wtf? this escalated quickly ... the guy that wasn't even on your top 20 list for people that are better than Alex Smith is actually more accurate than the person you call "2nd best"? That's just mind boggling! He's also one of the deadliest QBs throwing on the run right now :O.... odd.

DDD, please find some other stats! because these ones just won't do  :( make sure they are the stats that make Russell look good this time though!

Wilson is the man! stats just don't tell the story he could get the stats if he had to but he doesn't have to in are system but when are running game is not working he can. the thing about him that just keeps amazing me time in and time out is his ability to not get rattled and will a play to happen when its in a huge situation, Wilson is a clutch big game qb that has an uncanny ability to pull a rabbit out of his ass. Pryor is good but in a big game situation where my team is down there is only a handful of QB's that have this unique ability to stay calm and focused and have there team have lots of belief in them so they still believe and I'm just super happy to have one of those QB's be on my team

I don't hate on you Dave and you make good points about Wilson. The only thing I have to say after reading all of this is that DDD keeps saying Seattle is the best team and I'm not going to argue that point right now, but it makes me wonder if you dropped a Pryor into the same team would he look just as good or better than Wilson? If Seattle has the best team in every aspect as DDD always points out and the best QB then how could they ever lose? Right? So, given that Pryor has similar stats and plays on a much shittier team, wouldn't that make it seem as if he is a better QB? Just trying to use some logic and not emotion to analyze this. I'm not trying to say that Pryor is better (just using Autumn's example), but the team around the QB has to make a difference.

Just an FYI, I've watched Wilson play and I think he's pretty good... I don't want to make any bold statements about how good he is...

Wilson was handed the keys of a Cadilac while Pryor has to jump start a Pinto, I get that . Its just some players have that it factor in big games and ability to make insane plays in clutch situations , and I just don't see Pryor having that trait, I will put it this way,my team is down 14 in the 4th quarter of the super bowl, what qb do I want to be running my offense?

in no order
Brady
Wilson
Eli
Peyton
Luck
Brees
Rodgers

Its not that i don't think he is good and could succeed on the seahawks because I believe Pryor could, its just when my team is not playing well I want the QB that has a special trait that not many have to just make plays happen . He is very young in his career and can only get better, soon people will see what I see, the joe montana ability in him

that's fair, stats don't completely define how a player plays under pressure

and honestly I don't care if anybody disagrees and I'm not trying to convince anybody or change anybodies opinion, I just talk like this because I'm super happy with Wilson, I love him as a player and a person and I like talking about him is all

do you have a man crush?

I think Wilson looks pretty good considering how young he is.
