Thing is, for that budget you could not find a laptop with a graphics card. You could find one with a good onboard graphics, but it's CPU would bottleneck you in games.

If you really only care about minecraft, I would recommend you a laptop with Intel HD 3000 or with AMD integrated graphics.

That really depends on your internet connection. Tongue

To be honest, minecraft runs on pretty much anything. Just look for one that you like and doesn't get too hot.
I had a reasonably fast HP, but it got so hot I ended up trading it for a slightly slower Macbook.

i mean i know it'll run on pretty much anything but this macbook is getting kinda old and has a bunch of worthless files that are my family's on it that I CAN'T get rid of since they said and basically i play on "short" render settings on minecraft. i wanna be able to play on normal and maybe run optifine so i can even fine tune the render settings. i also want something other than a mac so downloads will be easier etc. and i figured it was mostly internet. recently it's been really slow but most of the time i don't have to wait a min for it to buffer in hd. anyways thanks for the suggestions and not being like "well i know it's a bit over your price range but it's worth it" and showing me a $460 computer that i don't want

This is a topic for me.

I'll come back here with a good laptop with a workable gpu and a good price.

I'll delete this post and make a new one or edit this when I find it.

*EDIT*

This is a decent choice

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215371

This might be your best bet.

I recommend grabbing a cooling pad along with it.

This would run some stuff, but not too much huge.

You can get away at low settings or medium depending on the game.

If you had 100$ more you would have access to a ton.

However that isn't bad for the price.

I got rid of my i5 laptop because of how hot it got. Even under normal loads like web browsing it got insanely hot and I couldn't be bothered to carry a cooling pad everywhere. You should have that in mind if you do decide to get one. Tongue

And the fan was loud as ****. My macbook's fan has reached 5000 rpm and it is SILENT even at those speeds.

Make sure you have a fan that moves good cfms it's about the design, not how much air it pushes.

If it can tightly move things better, it is a better fan.
