by that logic every single business across america that employs a homophobe should be boycotted.
and i dont think you understand. while again, not that it holds any weight, these kids are trying to get him to stop spending his money on aforementioned legislation.
Would people boycott an individual who spent his money trying to legalize slavery? I'd lean towards yes. and i would lol just as whoeheartedly chick fil a aint even good

What I honestly don't like is how they're taking their frustrations out on CFA rather than the guy. Separate on the clock and off the clock ffs.

The money that Chik Fil A makes goes towards anti kechua marriage bills. People don't want to support these homophobic bills so they stop spending their money at Chik Fil A. How is this protesting freedom of speech? How is this against capitalism? People have the right to protest.

I think it's absolutely batshit retarded, but it's within everybody's rights to boycott Chik-fil-a, just as it's Dan Cathy's right to oppose what he views as a moral issue. I have a huge problem with these "progressive" mayors blocking Chik-fil-a's in their cities; it's discriminating against the business based on a social issue decided by its CEO. In any case, Chik-fil-a doesn't have anything to worry about. Something tells me that boycotts aren't going to affect a god-fearing, fried chicken place in the south

I think it's a good idea to boycott. No harm in that. Maybe it will change their idiotic ways. It's not like people are being violent towards Chic Fil A for their freedom of speech, or are they?

by that logic every single business across america that employs a homophobe should be boycotted. Not really. Evidently you're just bad at logic. and i dont think you understand. while again, not that it holds any weight, these kids are trying to get him to stop spending his money on aforementioned legislation.
I do understand, actually. You're the one who thinks protests and boycotts are violations of free speech. I suppose next you'll tell us that the Montgomery Bus Boycott was a violation of free speech. People can protest whatever they want and boycott whoever they want on whatever basis they want. It's legal and common. Read a history book if you honestly think otherwise. its not a cut of chik fil as profits, its one ****ing dudes salary that works at chil fil a.
It's the president of CFA, actually. everything ive heard says contrarily. souce?

They're not. The Mayor of Boston's words were taken a bit out of context. At any rate, they (the mayors) can't block CFA from opening up shop in their cities. They're just using the bully pulpit to let CFA know they won't be greeted with open arms, which is a very common and legal tactic. However, the residents of these cities can block CFA by petition, I think.

True. I still found their statements to be ridiculous and kind of pathetic though... much like the boycott.

In that case couldn't they eventually impeach the president since his salary is paying for the campaign? Though I don't know if they have a board of directors and it's also a family owned business so it may not be that easy. chick fil a aint even good

I don't see the merit in it. I don't see how it does any good. It isn't going to bring down a fried chicken restaurant based in the south that is catching heat for supporting what's viewed as a Christian principle. Let's say it did bring some locations down though, as it does have locations nationwide. In the event that it did, it has managed to put all those people out of a job and for what? It still wouldn't have even dented Cathy's ability to donate to the causes of his choice. If you're going to be an activist and act like you're a caring and open-minded person, then at least do things that could accomplish more good than they could harm, or try to be consistent in your actions. Powerful people do crappy things, but if I was to stop shopping at every business that had an influential member doing something I morally disagreed with, I think my options would be rather limited.
