College football is the greatest level of the greatest sport in America.
Alabama will be the best team for a long time as long as they have Nick Saban. They will keep getting the top recruiting class and continue to dominate the rest of the country. There is no question in my mind that they far surpass any other team in the country, including Southern Cal, who I don't even think is better than Oregon.
Speaking of Oregon,
I'm surprised at how well their freshman quarterback did. Although, it was against Arkansas State, the domination was just unbelievable. They could have put up 120 against Arkansas State if they really wanted to.
Another thing, I'm surprised at how poorly the Gus Malzahn coached Ark St played. I'll give him some time to build the program up before trying to judge him too harshly but maybe Cam Newton WAS the only reason he was seen as a good offensive coordinator.
I was very disappointed, being a Carolina fan, how poorly the SC Gamecocks played against Vanderbilt. We had to get some help from the refs at the end of that game to pull out that win. Though, being a Carolina fan, I'm not surprised. They were down to East Carolina last year and somehow rallied to pull that game out. They just play everyone close which makes it frustrating to be a Gamecock fan. Speaking of East Carolina, the Gamecocks play them this Saturday. I'm a little bit worried about this game considering our QB, Connor Shaw is banged up and how poorly we played even with him versus Vanderbilt. We're really going to need Marcus Lattimore to carry us to victory. I still feel like South Carolina is the best team in the SEC East but they just need to get in the rhythm of things.
Not surprised Penn State lost, they suck and have sucked for a while. Only reason they've been able to pull out 6-8 wins consistently the past 10 or so years is because they win against the people they should win against e.g: the low Big Ten teams (Illinois, Indiana etc) and their cupcakes (Youngstown St (who demolished Pitt btw lol) etc) anytime they come against real competition they'll lose, a lot like Notre Dame but I feel like Notre Dame is actually becoming a decent team under Brian Kelly.
This year Penn State can't even beat Ohio, albeit, Ohio is the best team in the MAC but still. OHIO. Going to be a rough year in Happy Valley.
Ellington looked great against Auburn's defense but he won't be able to do that against South Carolina's stout defensive line in November.

Also, Louisville is pretty much a lock for a BCS bowl game, only decent team in that pathetic "BCS" conference. The Big East sucks so bad Vanderbilt could probably win it (not saying Vanderbilt is a horrible team, just an average team that would look amazing in the Big East)
One more thing, Virginia Tech looked pretty pathetic Monday night but it was against an equally pathetic Georgia Tech team. VT will still win their division because everyone in the Coastal division is terrible. The only two teams that can beat VT in the ACC are FSU and Clemson, but unfortunately they are both in the Atlantic division. Therefore, VT will somehow find their way in the ACC championship again.
Last thing for really! Speaking of Florida State, I think their recruiting has finally got them back on track. Look for them to blaze through the crappy ACC, only challenge being Clemson.
