The Wii U Event that ended about half an hour ago confirmed that the game is indeed hitting the Wii U. Wii U event topic can be seen here: http://wiiunite.smfforfree3.com/index.php/topic,23074.0.htmlIt looks and runs like the 360/PS3 versions (HD, 60fps, etc.) Control styles are Gamepad, Pro Controller and Wii Remote & Nunchuk. Combat Training with 2 players on same Wii U (One playing on Gamepad [Streaming] other with Pro Controller). Can play streaming through the Gamepad. Online is confirmed, obviously. That's all for now.

Updating with the Fact Sheet.
Call of Duty®: Black Ops II Nintendo® Wii U Fact Sheet PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The most anticipated game of the year and the most ambitious Call of Duty® game ever, Call of Duty®: Black Ops II is coming to Wii U. Launching in the platform's launch window, Call of Duty: Black Ops II delivers the most groundbreaking and viscerally immersive Call of duty® experience yet. Rooted in near-future fiction, the title propels players into a visual landscape in an epic single player campaign highlighted by branching storylines and non-linear missions; a re-imagined multiplayer that introduces players to some of the most cutting-edge weaponry and equipment that 2025 will have to offer; and punctuated with an all-new Zombies experience running in the multiplayer engine.
CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS II ON WII U
HD Experience: The title features the most advanced textures, lighting and shadowing systems in series history, all of which are on full display on Wii U.
Second-Screen Gameplay: Utilizing Wii U’s second-screen experience with the Wii U GamePad™, Call of Duty: Black Ops II players can join the action in a full Call of Duty experience from the second-screen. Plus, with the state of the art Wii Touchscreen, gamers can view multiplayer maps, call in score streaks and choose loadouts.
Expanded Functionality: Players have the option of using Wii U’s split-screen functionality to use both the GamePad™ and the Wii U Pro controller. Wii U also supports up to four controllers, including the Nintendo Wii Remote™ and Nunchuck.
Controller Choices: Use the GamePad touch screen to customize controls in real-time, or switch at any time to use another controller of your choice, including: Wii Remote Classic Controller Pro Game Pad WiiU Pro Controller
CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS II MULTIPLAYER
All-New Create-A-Class: Create-a-class has been re-imagined, introducing players to a new “pick-10” allocation system, allowing an unprecedented number of combinations of create-a-class content. Players no longer have to take content from each category; instead, trade items from one category for extra items in another – any combination of 10 items makes almost anything possible.
New Score Streaks: Score Streaks reward players for helping their team win the game: capturing flags, defending your teammate with an assault shield, getting kills and assists are all examples of actions that help your team win and thus give you score. Each action has a different value and can influence the theater of operations.
eSports on Wii U via League Play: Competition is fun at any level, which is why Treyarch has introduced League Play, offering skill-based matchmaking and seasonal ladders. Play a small number of matches to get your skill rating, and from there, you’ll be placed into a division with players of similar skill. Keep winning and you’ll move up in rank – steady progress will move you up the ladder and into upper divisions. Skill-based matchmaking ensures that you are challenged but not out-gunned. League play is for everyone. Additionally, CODcasting is part of the mix, allowing fans to commentate their favorite games.
Upgraded Weapons, Attachments and Equipment: Near-future warfare means upgrades in technology that soldiers will use in the field. Additionally, weapon perks are now built into the attachments.
More Multiplayer: Call of Duty: Black Ops II on Wii U includes Challenges, Core & Party Game Modes, Custom Games, Combat Training, Theater Enhancements, Emblem Editor and Prestiging.
Publisher: Activision Publishing, Inc.
Developer: Treyarch
Release Date: Black Ops II on the Wii U is being launched in the platform's launch window.
ESRB Rating: M (Mature) – Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Drugs

Already pre-ordered. Wiimote + nunchuck = awesome. I'll try out the gamepad though too. I have to say I am pleased too. I feared my fave Wiimote was going to die for FPS maybe, Activision supporting the Wiimote is nice. For me gaming is all about Wiimote FPS. I am not a fan of dual analog, but I do like the idea of bringing the WiiU console to the bedroom, laying in bed and going Blops II on-line with the big gamepad or even playing the single player campaign I usually skip. I fear getting a WiiU at a retail store might be tough during this holiday season (?) I better pre-order WiiU and Blops II, I am interested in ACIII and 007 Legends too.

What's the advantage to pre order? I think I will walk in on the 18th and just walk out like everything else on the wii. Short suppy? Nintendo has had years to get ready for this day.

The better deal $350 black 32GB WiiU deluxe is becoming unavailable for pre-order to stores per Gamefaqs chatter. I will probably end up trying to pick one up whenever I find one on the shelf. After playing the original Wii at friends' ****tail parties in 2007 & 2008 (remember the cool novelty the first time you played Wii Sports Tennis), I finally saw a Wii on the shelf in February 2009, bought a Wii second time I saw one on the shelf in February 2009 really just because I could and somehow ended up on MOHH2 on-line not too long after. The Wiimote & MOHH2 got me into gaming (I did play Doom 2 in the 1990s and Doom 3 in the 2000s a bit on PC). Now I am worried I will not be able to play the WiiU on November 18th release, lol. Update 9/15/2012: After seeing the WiiU black Deluxe model pre-order not available from other sources and reading Gamefaqs chatter about holiday shortages, I pre-ordered the black Deluxe model from Toys R Us for home delivery. I have had bad experiences with Toys R Us when ordering/reserving various gifts for family, the WiiU will probably show up in March 2013.

It would appear my assumption could be wrong. Why the hell would nintendo let this happen again? What's the advantage? You think apple would let I phones run out?

I went to Game Stop like two or three days after release and they were already sold out of deluxe Only place I could find it was Toys R Us home delivery also. I really hope we get them by Thursday or Friday.

From what I've read it seems they like to create just the right demand, but not too few. Makes people panic buy and also gives product a good appearance, "They must be awesome! They're selling out everywhere!" I've been trying to find out how many pre-orders were sold, but know one really knows. Most guesses I've seen range from 500k to 700k, then there are a few that are saying 1.2 to 2.5 mill, but most people argue that they couldn't make that many in that short of time.
