I have not ever read "The Hobbit"... but I have read the LoTR series. Perhaps I will pick it up.

i am beyond excited, haven't seen a movie in the theater since sherlock holmes 2 iirc. i've been listening to the complete lotr score and i'm reading the silmarillion just for shits

I have not ever read "The Hobbit"... but I have read the LoTR series. Perhaps I will pick it up.

Trailer looks good.
You should try reading it. It's arguably more accessible then the LOTR trilogy since it started out as a simple fantasy tale, and not an epic saga. It also had slightly more aimed at younger audiences, and is DEFINITELY less dark then some parts of LOTR.

I tend to like reading series because I get invested in the characters. I will put Hobbit on my Kindle and get to it. I have always wanted to read it but never got around to it. I guess this is as good of a reason as I'll get.

Btw, I thought LoTR was about 200 pages too long. That thing never ended, haha.
