@dadburns

As far as FPS games go there is one that's coming out in the future, Aliens: Colonial Marines (Multiplatform). I'm not sure of all the control types for that game though. But as far as control types are concerned that would be up to the developer if they want to add the Wii Remote & Nunchuk or any of the Wii's controllers as one of the control types. It would also depend on if the game heavily uses the Gamepad's features like ZombiU does.

Examples:
ZombiU (More survival like gameplay)- Gamepad is the main control scheme for single player. Gamepad, Wii U Pro Controller and Wii Remote & Nunchuk can be used for multiplayer. [Local]

Call of Duty Black Ops 2- Gamepad, Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Remote & Nunchuk and Classic Controller/Pro can be used.

007 Legends- Gamepad and Wii U Pro Controller can only be used.

Since there are more "M rated" games coming to the Wii U there's a chance it could get more multiplatform FPS games like Battlefield. We'll have to see if the developers put in Wii Remote support for their FPS games.
