I'm looking for some new avenues for my gaming news. Know of some good Japanese focused websites that are in English? I currently use Kotaku for the most part because they have employees / contributors that live in Japan. Or how about sites that focus on a particular type of game? Please list any site you like to visit for games and try to keep it classy

The only one I use is IGN. I like them because they're like me and don't take everything sooper-serious.

I use gamespot, their informative and have very biased reviews, but the site is easy to manuever and ive been going there for close to ten years now. My bread and butter for anything important.
My one friend swears by Kotaku reviews, and news becuase they usually have it before a lof of other sites.
PCgamer has some good news on new pc hardware, free to play games, mods, minecraft stuff.
Used to use ign, they used to have terrible reviews though idk if they've gotten better.
1up.com used to have the most down to earth/ not biased reviews. Havent visited there in a while.

IGN has the worst reviews I'v ever seen.
Games that made me feel like I was trapped in a black hole of sheer boredom they give good reviews.
Games that I'v had endless fun and excitement with they give below average reviews.
**** THEM. FUUUUUCK. THEEEEM.

I agree. IGN is pretty bad. They're usually heavily biased towards the 360 and if something isn't then it's damn sure heavily biased towards something else. Honestly, I think gaming journalism is a bunch of male cattle dung. There's been a lot of accusations lately of publishers buying their reviews and a lot of times the proof looks pretty legit enough to cast serious doubt on some of these sites.

I don't rely on reviews these days as I used to in the past, I try to actually research the game now and learn what it's about before I try it, but still checking out a few reviews can be helpful.
As unreliable as many reviews are though, IGN is just on a whole new low.

Yeah I'm sure it's nothing new but I still think it's kind of like what Squire said above, it's a whole new low for the entire industry. They don't even seem to hide anything anymore. Dew-ritos controversy:

LMFAO SQUIRE. I don't know if that's facetious parody or a genuine IGN review.
Oce, I just posted a picture because I figured most people already knew what happened. Basically it's Geoff Keighley, a prominent game journalist, obviously selling out to Microsoft, Doritos and Mountain Dew. He goes on this video and basically promotes Halo 4 and the other two products when it's his job to review the game. Obviously it's a conflict of interest. What kind of review do you suppose he gave the game?
I think another journalist called him on his male cattle dung and got fired after the other guy threatened legal action.

That's far from the truth. They used to be, I guess.. because the 360 was better. Nowadays they tend to praise the PS3 (for good reason). I love IGN because I listen to their PlayStation podcast (Beyond!) every week, and I love the guys on there. I feel like I really understand them, and how they deal with the site and stuff because of the podcast. They really care about their reviews, and the articles they post. Greg Miller, Colin Moriarty, Ryan Clements, and Andrew Goldfarb are awesome IGN editors. Most of them are. There are a couple of them I don't like, but whatever. I enjoy IGN because they're more upbeat and not as strictly professional. They play games for fun, and that translates in their articles. I think I wouldn't feel so strongly for the site if I didn't listen to the podcast, though. It's really fun to listen to, you guys might want to listen to an episode or two. If you want, look here and see if any of these contain topics you're interested in. IGN4life. http://feeds.ign.com/ignfeeds/podcasts/beyond/
