Well it is a complex game but you'll understand it eventually.

Firstly, those starting kits are always going to be there for you and they're free. As you play more you'll earn more in game money and you have to use that to buy skills and other weapons.

You can buy skill books to increase your weapon abilities and other types of abilities that will shape your soldier. It's kind of like an RPG. Once you level up those skills you can start buying different guns that are more powerful. You can also buy other dropsuits and equipment and then save different loadouts however you want. The thing is, every time you die you lose one of everything. So say you go to the marketplace and buy 10 guns of a certain kind, 5 med injectors and 5 drop suits. If you die five times you're going to lose those med injectors and drop suits, you'll have 5 remaining guns left and you'll have to restock on anything that you ran out of or switch those out with one of the permanent options that you will always have.

As far as spawning goes, there are some ammo stations or something along those lines that you have to hack and then they belong to your team. I think you can spawn on those in some game modes.
