http://www.vg247.com/2013/02/11/releasing-a-game-demo-can-cut-your-sales-in-half-warns-schell/

This guy is complaining that releasing a demo cut his sales down so it's bad to release them. The way I see it is that it was a crappy game and people saw it was a crappy game so they didn't buy it. If it had been good a demo would have done the opposite to sales.

OMG, he actually blatantly stated that gamers could see that a game wasn't worth buying and it decreased sales. I can't believe he thought that was a valid argument. You know what's going to happen in the future....they will release demos for a fee and then if you purchase the game, they will decrease it by the demo price if you bought the demo. Then they'll say everyone wins lol and they won't lose as much money because people at least spent something for the demo.

Exactly. I know a lot of people here don't keep up with this stuff anymore but the gaming industry has really gone to ****. A lot of publishing and dev companies have made male cattle dung claims like that and turn around and call gamers entitled when they don't want to buy a crappy product.

If you're familiar with Devil may Cry, they released a new game recently and the core crowd hated it because they changed the main character and dumbed down the gameplay. They got pissed because the core crowd rejected it.

This comment is probably the best way of putting it:

>"Guy literally falls short of saying 'If we can't misrepresent our product, then we'll lose money'"
