Holy fudgemonkeys I have nothing but good things to say about all of that.

The character movements look smooth and graceful, the directional changes look fluid and natural, the combat appears to be far more elegant and pleasing to the eye.

The thing that made me most excited was that it appears rolling will be heading back towards Demon's Souls' type of rolling, meaning your character doesn't have that stupid, slight delay after rolling anymore (one of my biggest complaints about Dark Souls).  And that's to say nothing of the enemy designs and movements.  Judging from what little I saw from that big fella the mage was fighting, enemies are smarter and will wait to attack you until they're in range, even after they've telegraphed their attack.  And speaking of the mage, it looks like magic is getting a much-needed overhaul.  The same could be said for ranged combat in general, as it looked like that bow the knight was using took less time to draw and the arrow moved more quickly.

I'd love for that latter part to be the case, as I really want ranged characters to be a viable build without needed to kite enemies around and use cheap terrain advantages to kill anything.

Looks great and I'm excited.  Day one purchase for me.

Before they confirmed it was just for this generation, I was all like "IT BETTER BE ON PS4". However, now that I've seen this and realised they are going to be able to fully use the PS3, it's all good. I love the way it looks. It looks so much crisper than the first two games. I was never amazed by the way they looked, they were just 'good'. This, however, looks awesome.  Afro

Exactly.  This looks like a highly polished game.
