Probably not. It's called the Xbox One because it's an all in one type thing. You get "gaming", internet and television in one...or something like that. Having said that, I think this was one of the most disasterous reveals of all time. Nobody is happy about what the just saw and it's already a huge mockery. If the extreme casuals (people that don't even really play games) don't pick this up for the television feature, ****'s gonna be really bad for Microsoft. https://twitter.com/AdamSessler/status/336901672662077443

I definitely saw it. It looks the same. They're using technology that is already in games that are coming out earlier - on the PS3 at that. Beyond: Two Souls has amazing graphical technology. It also has amazing emotionally driven characters. It's a joke to believe CoD is actually going to be a serious game. It will be the same thing it's been for years. Get out of the hype storm and open your eyes. I'm not being ignorant towards it, people that are still buying it like slaves are. I was being ignorant for like 3 years. I kept buying them thinking the next would be better. It's always the same, and it's literally the exact same excuse every year. "Oh, the next one better be good. OMG IT LOOKS AWESOME! *4 months later* Ugh, I hope the next one is good."

A Dog is with you! A DOG! Motion captured Dog! But seriously, most people were disappointed like LT said because they showed no gameplay at all (closest thing was the Infinity Ward talking about working on CoD:Ghosts video package) near the end. There were some details given after the reveal about the whole "used games" deal and how starting up a game works. Since it's apparently mandatory to install the game on the hard drive of the system, link the game to your Live account and be able to play it without the disc. You also need an online connection to install the game in the first place. Also the fee for "second hand" use (trying to use the disc on another console) to install it on there. I'm still a little confused on that info since if it's like this, it would confuse a lot of people without the common game knowledge that we have.

You get "gaming" Unless you want to play a multiplayer game and don't have Live. internet Don't all the major consoles have web browsers anyway? and television in one...or something like that. Google tried the television thing some years back, and it didn't do so great. That's not to say that MS can't do better, but when I think of "forward-thinking innovators who generally get things done", I don't tend to think of MS a whole lot. CNet's commentators raised an interesting point, though: If it works, it'll probably be for only one or two cable companies to start out with, which means it'll be severely limited geographically. Especially when we start talking about Xbox One owners outside the US. Not to mention there's no word on if you can watch Netflix without a Gold account on the Xbox One, which to me seems a bit silly, since that's essentially charging you twice to have Netflix. I'm going to wait for E3 before I have my opinions set in stone, but I wasn't too impressed watching that. I watched the hour long thing. Call of duty ghosts looks sooooooo ****ing good
What got me was that Microsoft again tried to pass off earlier access to DLC for this game as "exclusive" content. Bet they do it again at E3, too. It seems like a staple for each MS gaming conference at this point. Also, what did you guys think of the live action Halo TV series announcement? They've already made a movie called Halo: Forward Unto Dawn, and it was pretty decent. With Spielberg directing the series, I'm hopeful we'll get a decent sci-fi TV show.

The fact that the second they show 5 seconds of "gameplay" of the next CoD people go nuts and say things like "it looks so great! It's probably the best one so far" amazes me. I can't believe I used to do that too.

I said it looks **** good. I was talking about the graphics. I'm not an idiot, I know graphics don't make a game. I don't think the next cod will always be good. I was a strong believer that Bo2 would suck, and I was right. I thought mw3 would be great, and it was IMO.

Oh, please. That changes every year. Whatever though. Also, it honestly didn't even look that amazing. Killzone Shadow Fall looks much better.

Enough about ****ing CoD. The entire thing did seem to be tailored to the US market, like Turbo was saying. I think it's a very ambitious direction they're taking but I do question a lot of aspects of it. Obviously television is a big thing here in the U.S but again, how big is the market for this sort of thing in other countries in Europe or Japan? Do they even watch Football? I don't think the whole fantasy football part even spoke to them. I can definitely see they are trying to expand so far out of the gaming market and if it works, it'll make them **** loads of money. As a gamer though, this thing didn't show me anything I might want. Also, what did you guys think of the live action Halo TV series announcement? They've already made a movie called Halo: Forward Unto Dawn, and it was pretty decent. With Spielberg directing the series, I'm hopeful we'll get a decent sci-fi TV show.
I saw the Halo movie and I thought it was pretty good, especially for the kind of budget they had. I think that a Spielberg Halo series would be pretty awesome but I don't want to pay for Live just for that. I don't really watch television.
