Yeah, same with me.  I don't have cable, nor do I want it.  I wouldn't be interested in that feature of the Xbox One even if I were interested in the console.  Obviously they're not just marketing to teenagers and young adults, but I can't help but feel that's the largest market for them.

I am interested in seeing those 8 new IPs promised for E3, though.  If there's one thing I love about E3, it's new IPs.

I guarantee some are also on PC and most are just smaller titles (arcade). There are definitely some Kinect games, too. Bleh.

All i'll say is that it's great to see two consoles being competitive with each other. It makes them better and cheaper for us as consumers.  Afro

Yeah, that's why I dislike what Microsoft is doing. They're clearly headed in the opposite direction as Sony. Going for bro gamers (sports/shooter players), and more of the casual market compared to the PS4 being geared strictly towards gamers.

I read today that the Xbox One will come bundled with Kinect, that it will be required to use the Xbox One, and that you can't turn it off.  I also read that each game will be activated to your account and your account only, and that if you want to play a used game you'll have to pay a fee to do so, which could very well cost the same as the full-price game.

If those things are true, Microsoft must be trying to kill off their own console.

Alright, that's good.  Though I'm sure such a situation would delight Sony fanboys, that ish would hurt gaming as an industry.  All it takes is one major player to pull that stunt for others to think it's okay, and that's not a situation I'd like gaming to be in.

Unconfirmed rumors coming from people at Microsoft? mhm ok. Seems pretty confirmed to me, based on what I've read. You also can't ignore that Sony hasn't actually said they're NOT doing some of the things Microsoft is admitting to doing. If they're both doing it, that's different.

Do you have a source?  I'm not doubting you, I just haven't seen anything conclusive.
