Sony looks set up to just roll over Microsoft. Every day when I check out a gaming site I see another game coming to the Playstation. They'll be showing 40 games at E3.
The only thing Sony has to do is say they have no plans for any DRM or any limitations on used games.

I won't be confident in Sony's intelligence until after E3, after which they likely won't have the opportunity to shoot themselves in the face.

It won't make any sense if Sony isn't doing the same thing Microsoft is with used games, since it's the publishers pressuring them in to it. It's really not Microsofts choice, and it would call for bad relationships between Sony and publishers.

Wait wut. They absolutely have a choice. THEY OWN THE PLATFORM and aside from Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo is the only game in town. Devs want to sell games? They gotta play by Sonyntendosoft's rules.
But you have a point that Sony likely planned something like Microsoft. The only question is if they're going to abandon those plans seeing the huge shitstorm the Xbone caused. They haven't really said anything specifically yet. I'd be surprised if a lot of plans haven't been changed or outright scrapped behind closed doors. Well, that's if Sony doesn't want to absolutely shoot themselves in the face like Turbo said.

They have a choice, but it's one of those choices where there's a clearly bad decision to make - that being to allow used games to continue the way they are, and to tell the publishers to get over it.
In the short term it will make gamers happy because they can keep trading in and buying used, but in the long run it's obviously better to allow the publishers to not lose so much money.
Less people buying more games > more people buying less games (new)
Games are where companies make money, not by selling consoles. If some people drop out and say they won't play the system because there are no used games, it doesn't matter. Those people weren't going to really support the industry anyways.
..as far as the industry goes. It will also allow for great prices in the long run purchasing stuff online.
