I'm curious how you think you have any idea what playing professional football is like.  Or professional hockey.

We don't need to be professional athletes to comment on the sports.

Read what I said Turbo. Didn't say we couldn't comment. I said that if Handy was going to compare a pleasure skate to professional hockey then he had no credibility. There's a difference. When did I say that you couldn't comment on hockey because you hadn't played it? I didn't for the very reason that none of us have played professionally.

Where did Handy say he was pleasure skating?  For all you know he could have been playing hockey.

And you basically said that Handy had no place to comment on hockey since you assumed he hadn't played it, which is what I meant.

I didn't say that Handy had never played hockey. Show me if I did. He said he skated for an hour... I'm sure if he was using playing hockey for an hour as a comparison he would have said that, but he didn't, which equates to pleasure skate. Anyway, I really don't care if you guys agree or not, but there's a reason it's mandatory to have defibrillators in every hockey arena. It's because you need to be in great shape to play and a lot of people who aren't have heart attacks.

And you think they don't have those at football games...?

Anyway, I don't care enough about this to actually argue over.  I was kidding when this started.  I couldn't care less about the athleticism of hockey players.

As long as we can agree that poker isn't a real sport and should be replaced by curling on ESPN I'm good.

I've just been busy with life lately and this site has been slow for the past few months, no offense. I've always been lurking at least once a week.

Nah, no offense taken.  It's true.  But we're working on turning that around, so I'm glad to see you.

lololololololololololololol

Every goddamn sporting event has a defib at it. Basketball and football were some of the first to have them because they make money(aka could afford to) and because theres a much higher incidence of players with preexisting heart defects in those two sports. Defibs aren't there because people have gotten worn out and have a heart attack, they're there to help save those with an unknown(at the time) heart defect, or in some much rarer cases, like the Cornell lacrosse player from ~2002(might be a year or two either side of that) who died on the field after taking a shot directly to the heart, and could have been saved if a defib was available.

So......27 more days and Kaepernick is mine still?  How u doin baw

If I get my kechua friend in this league he will fight you for Kaepernick. He may or may not own dozens of this year's ESPN The Body Magazine just because Kaepernick was in it.  Roll Eyes

Again, you're wrong Handy. It's obviously because you have no understanding of what a "real" hockey game is like and the toll it takes on your heart. I've seen and heard of many people die from heart attacks while playing hockey and it had nothing to do with heart defects. Good try though.
