I saw it on the flash sale for %50 off and bought it.  Hopefully more updates come out soon cause right now its a huge bland open world with nothing to do in lol, even the crafting sucks.  The buggy is fun to drive around though.  I wouldn't mind some mods coming out before the game releases either.

I was meaning to ask what you thought of it.  Looks like it could be really fun, but yeah it does look rather bland right now.

Yeah It looks like its going to be sick.  I like the idea of it, theres nothing broken with the gameplay, just nothing there yet really lol, guess i should have known what to expect.  Another 6 months from now maybe that will be the best 9 bucks i ever spent  Afro

How is the building/crafting, though?  Is it simple or really complex, and how much freedom do you really have?  Are there monsters and stuff?

As of right now, the crafting consists of 5 different kinds of materials, wood, steel, coal, dont remember the other two.  You can craft like 5 different weapons, like 6 different vehicles, 6 different blocks, 6-7 mechanical things that i dont have a clue what to do with or how to use.  Thats pretty much it right now, and everything you craft has to be done at a VAT, i guess starforges version of a craft table.  Its a big pad thing though, with DNA in it and stuff they havent gotten in too yet.  The materials you collect have to be within so many feet of the VAT to be able to use them in crafting.  Right now there is just 1 kind of monster, a big worm like creature, you only see them in survival mode where there is waves of them, there is also a mode for free roam/ crafting.

So I was pretty close in calling it a more mature Minecraft.  That's good to know, I guess.  If it turns out to have better crafting/building and more sophisticated combat than Minecraft I might pick it up.

What about graphically?  How's it run?

It ran smooth, no hiccups.  The environment was extremely bland though, looks like all the games between 2000 and 2004 looked like lol.

It will definitely have a lot more crafting, I know its supposed to be heavy in the exploring the entire planet aspect and beyond.  The version we have is just so far off from what it will be, everything is hard to tell, but the gameplay/ trailer vids show a ton of promise.
