For those that still care about this game in some way, I saw a bunch of info about the game on GoNintendo. It's about the game in general so I would think it applies to every version. I'm basically copy/pasting the info and it'll be a lot of info so be prepared.

Ubisoft talks Watch_Dogs delay, more gameplay mechanics revealed (from USGamer)

Coming from a USGamer interview with Ubisoft's Jonathan Morin on why Watch_Dogs was delayed.

"When you're promising a player that they can hack everything and express themselves, they expect the result to be there. A complicated game that is broken is no more acceptable than an easier one that works."

- a mission requiring you to enter a building site involves hacking a series of security cameras
- eventually you'll need to gain control of a camera that lets you zoom in on a particular security guard’s face
- this is done so you can hack his phone for the password to the security gate
- hack things like machinery to create distractions
- overload circuitry to create deadly explosions
- you can also hack things while driving, including barriers on the road
- multiplayer allows you to race cars with other players
- you can also do missions in multiplayer, including tailing someone for cash
- earn money by completing missions or stealing it from other people
- use money to buy various weapons
- you can also pick up parts and chemicals and combine them into bombs and other useful items
- as expected, the police will come if you start hurting people with your weapons

Info on intro mission, side missions, companion app and more (from IGN)

- opening mission involves kidnapping a man who may have information relating to a death in Aiden's family
- Aiden has to escape a baseball stadium filled with cops
- you cause a massive blackout to sneak past guards
- walk through an adjacent bar to get away
- side missions involve digital drug trips where you had to run around the city collecting 8-bit coins
- another side mission involves driving a killer car through a flaming city filled with demons
- yet another side mission includes using a giant, fully-armed spider mech to cause as much chaos as possible
- the companion app lets you spend points setting roadblocks, raising bridges, and building a fleet of police vehicles
- you can use these methods to attack other in-game players
- to lose cops during a car chase, you can pull into an alleyway, turn off your ignition and headlights and duck down in the front seat

Aiden's storyline motivations revealed, more details on hacking (from Playstation blog)

- Aiden robs the wrong people, leading to the tragic death of his niece
- game picks up after Aiden's niece, Lena Pearce, has been buried
- Aiden is out to find who did this to his niece
- his search leads him to a hit man under May Stadium
- Aiden interrogates the killer and learns more info on who's out to stop him
- hack traffic lights, bridges, garage doors, and more just by aiming the reticle and hitting a button
- Aiden’s profiler will alert players when random crimes are about to happen
- grenades can be detonated remotely
- Aiden can plan his assault on a gang’s meeting spot before they arrive, adjusting shutter doors and guard plates to manually shift the cover points

Free Roam:
- 8 player free roam

Tailing:
- stalk another player without raising suspicion
- the other player isn't notified he's being 'invaded'

Hacking:
- travel to a player's location and start a backdoor connection to their smartphone
- the player is instantly notified

Decryption:
- team oriented
- steal files and take them to a given location

Race:
- pick from various predetermined races

ctOS Mobile Challenge:
- players on console can ping either random players or their friends with the app
- tablet players can search for anyone with an open connection to their game
- goal of the console player is to drive through a certain number of checkpoints
- tablet player can call down traps and roadblocks

Side Mission Details (from Gamespot)

- Jordi Chin is a man who can help you get cars and weapons when needed
- he can also set you up with driving contracts
- use these contracts to make money by being a wheelman
- wheelman missions include being a distraction car or a getaway car
- showroom missions have you breaking into luxury dealerships to make off with brand-new sports cars
- another AR game is NVZN, a wave-based arcade shooter
- take on swarms of polygonal aliens that only you can see via AR tech
- other side missions include raiding gang hideouts and taking on heavily armored convoys
- in hideouts, you have to take down the leader non-lethally
- in convoy missions, you have to take out an armored car at the center of a fleet of vehicles and then take out the crew inside
- one skill you can unlock allows you to slow down time during a shootout
- visit a coffee shop to play chess against fellow patrons
- you can also buy a cup of coffee to quickly refill your focus meter
- visit bars to play a drinking mini-game that involves wrangling a wonky reticle over an increasingly hazy target
- Aiden will sober up almost immediately after leaving the bar

Watch_Dogs devs talk hacking as a theme, Aiden as an Anti-Hero (from Polygon)

The following comes from a Polygon interview with lead gameplay designer Danny Belanger and writer Kevin Shortt...

"We were trying to validate the hacking part of the game. How can we make these dynamics? How can they help the players in all these contexts? We did that before shooting, just to make sure we had something that we could build a game on. Then the rest, I guess, everything came after that.

We were definitely trying to have something unique in the second-to-second, minute-to-minute game. To build a new game, you have to have something that's fresh. For us, it was a huge challenge, to make hacking a problem-solver. We have to make hacking as effective as shooting. If we succeed at that, if we make players think, I'm better off if I use this, that was the challenge. Some hacks are so extravagant. How do you make that help you, but not remove the fun, the tension? If it's just a win button, then it's broken. That was a huge challenge.

It's a weapon, but it's also a tool to be a ghost. If you have to go into a compound, you don't even have to go in physically. You can go and use the cameras, distract the guards, solve a problem, and get out. It can be its own gameplay. You're playing with the game systems and creating your own kind of story. That's why the skill tree is important. You're exposed progressively to all these effects. The more you understand how they work, the more you can play subtly.

Aiden is an antihero. He lives in shades of gray. But as a player you can be the bad guy. You can be that dangerous person, or you can be the vigilante. If you see a crime, if you see something that's going to happen, then you make that choice. We just let it be free for you to interpret and make those calls." - Belanger
"It takes a while to understand where Pearce is. This is a guy with a lot of rage. We're not asking the players to fall in love with this guy right from the get-go. We're saying, okay, you're going to have to get a sense of who this guy is. His goals are noble, I think. But for sure, his methods are questionable. I think he's more driven by, I **** up. I lost control. I'm not going to lose control again." - Shortt

^Even though current-gen is Wii U/PS4/XBONE, they meant last-gen



I think that's it for any news about the game. The game comes out on May 27th for PC, PS3, PS4, 360 and XBox One. The Wii U version is TBA Fall 2014.

- Free roaming online spans the entire map
- leave your free roam session open to whoever you want to enter, or invite only friends
- to enter free roam you open the map, switch to the grid and send the request
- after leaving an area and then entering it again it’s statistically possible to meet the same NPC again, but very unlikely
- go to sleep in a hideout to change the time of day, but you cannot select the weather
- when using quick reflexes ability in multiplayer, you still get the “helpers” (visual cues), but time doesn’t slow down

Kinda sounds like GTA V in a way though my only experience is watching online play sessions on youtube.

This game seems really generic and bland to me from everything I've seen. I don't understand the hype behind it, at all, similarly to Titanfall's hype.

Guess we'll see when it actually launches.

between the 3 of them or how ever many where there one of them could of got the gun and pointed it at him and told him to gtfo. Its that simple he would of left no one raped murdered lives saved so on and so forth daugher be eating her captain crunch the next morning

Standard "well-made" game that doesn't necessarily do anything interesting. Similar to Tomb Raider.
