This rule? "A runner’s baseline is established when the tag attempt occurs and is a straight line from the runner to the base he is attempting to reach safely."
Since the defender was in the grass, Harrison is allowed three feet in either direction. Although he was well out of the straight line from 2nd to 3rd, he was in the new baseline established by the tag attempt. Nice call by the umpires knowing this little nuance.
