i have razer deathadder 2013 i think. worked well mostly but now its constantly doing a double click which is really annoying. so while i liked it for the most part, ther are a couple of features that i want to change going forward with a a new mouse:
palm grip / shallow contour- i genereally prefer a higher contour for my mouse and the deathadder is too shallow for me. i found myself using a fingertip grip constantly because the contour didn't come high enough for my liking.
improved mouse software program- i liked what i got on the deathadder but i was wondering if anyone knew of a mouse program that lets helps me keep an even mouse sensitivity across different games. usually when you play a new game your sensitivity is all over the place and i'd like to minimize the amount of time i spend perfecting that.
also what gaming pads do you guys recommend? i have a corsair 12" x 14" pad which i like because i can use as much space as i want. it could use a little bit less friction though.

I think the mouse that I use is probably the first one ever invented... it feels like it is made of stone and runs about the same. Sorry, I am no good at knowing more. I am also in the market so I wouldn't mind someone giving some input about this!

So I'm sure you guys were deathly curious about which new mouse I was going to get. Last weekend I picked up the Logitech G502 gaming mouse. I like it a lot and feel it's mostly an improvement over my old Razer Deathadder 2013. Firstly, it's not named by a 12 yeard old so I wouldn't get embarrassed mentioning it out loud. here are all the other improvements tho -higher profile so it fits better in my palm - excellent software program. i can map several profiles and each profile can map 3 separate sensitivity settings -this mouse has 2 buttons to quickly select between those 3 different sensitivites -there is also one side button that is used for immediately selecting your lowest sensitivity setting for special circumstances, like sniping in an fps game. once the button is released it automatically goes back to your regular sensitivity. -the overall build quality is very good. razer mouse felt really cheap in comparison -has a blue light. only negative is taht it has a crappy feeling mouse wheel. would definitely recommend. 80 dollars at frys. im sure you could find a deal online but i wanted my new mouse immediately. old one was really pissing me off with the doubl-click problem.

as solid as an ****. the materials are all plastic and maybe some rubber for the grips but they feel like very good quality materials. even the mouse wheel feels like good materials though it comes together with the rest of the mouse in a crappy way. It looks like it came from the Matrix.

I recently bought a Corsair mouse, and I've really appreciated all the customization options for DPI and such. Fits nicely for me, and the build quality is outstanding. The Corsair Utility Engine (CUE) software that is needed to run it is awful though.

that's a very simple, elegant looking mouse. it reminds me a little of the deathadder but not as boring. what's the red button for? and are the top buttons under the wheel dpi selectors?

The red button Corsair calls a "sniper" button. It changes your sensitivity to 400 DPi (configurable) when pressing it, and then it reverts back to whatever DPi you're usually at when you let go. It's supposed to help when in-scope to have more precise control. And yes, the two arrows toggle through 5 presets of DPi (all of which are customizable).

Yep, my mouse has those very same buttons. i do like that your "sniper" button is right under your side buttons. it's way forward on mine which makes no sense. oh well, i don't really use it anyway.

But legit I might get one of those fancy gaming mice soon. I'm just using a trusty ole $20 Logitech right now.
