PillowTEC and myself actually play both so sooner or later we'll both give unbiased opinions >_>
Here's mine anyway.
XBL is a lot more robust for teamspeak, adding friends and playing with them. As of right now you can't invite friends without the in-game invite screen (so the only thing you get out of selecting their profile is the ability to message them) so yeah, until the PS3 picks up the slack (they basically just included message feature) the 360 shits all over them in this regard.
Lag is basically equal. Time-shift lag happens more on the PS3, but hit-detection is a lot better. At least from the games I play (the AK can actually snipe, but kill cams can lag back sometimes 2-3 seconds). They're sort of equal; unless you're playing FPS games stick with the 360.
Exclusives definitely go to the PS3. The fact that they get any is awesome. L4D/GoW2/H3/Halo Wars just don't cut it. Well, L4D does but I won't ever buy/get into the rest.
Controls are basically equal, but the screwed up bumper locations **** me off on the PS3, but maybe that's just because I'm so used to the 360 >_>
Cost is equal. I paid $721 for CoD4/360 Pro (back when they were around $400), a wireless adapter, another controller, a year of LIVE and just recently a 120 g HDD.
My brother paid around $697 for his, along with CoD4 and his headset. I didn't need most of the things I bought anyway.
360 ftw in terms of online competition. As if my casual-raping PS3 CoD4 KDR wasn't a big enough indication.
So yeah. If you actually like competitive play with friends, go for a 360. Otherwise the PS3 is good.
