I know it won't bug you guys as much, but I notice stuff like that and it annoys me. lol

I work with plants and trees alot, and when I see cheap imitations in games, it annoys me alot. (Re4 had the best looking trees on a nintendo console) The trees in The Conduit are barely passable by my standards. lol I don't care if they only have one or two trees that they use over and over again, it's better than looking at a polygonal trunk with a bad texture and polygonal branches with 2D leaves. I could make a doodle of a tree that looks more realistic. lol

2D rubble is unacceptable. MOH was a PSP port; The gfx and software were designed for the weak handheld device. I mean, it wouldn't be so bad if they added some bigger 3D models of broken concrete/objects on top of the 2D bulge and threw a better, crisper and more detailed texture on top of the bulge.. That way it looks a bit more realistic, but flat 2D rubble isn't gonna do it for me. I really hope they fix that in the Alpha version of The Conduit.

The textures play a LARGE part of the feel in an environment. Obviously they can't bump-map everywhere because there's NO way the wii could handle that, but I expect texture to remain crisp and detailed when I stand next to them. They said they are working on this in an interview, so I'm not so worried about it.

The sparks have got to go. Except for when they strike a metalic object. :/ They're distracting, and when I fire 30 rounds into a guy, I don't want to wait for the sparks to settle to see clearly what is happening/happened. It's unnecessary eye-candy that detracts from the depth of immersion, IMO.

FCs = FAIL. FCs should only be used for wiispeak/ Text communication. Otherwise, they can use the pre-made messages to say good game, etc. And they need a better friends list.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about The Conduit, but there are just some things that will annoy me moderately for a while.

The only other qualm I have with The Conduit is the story. It's uber-cliche and has a certain corny quality to it... Agent Ford needs a better reason for existing.. Why is HE the only one dealing with the invasion, what is so special about him.. I may be jumping to conclusions, but the story seems like a regurgitated Metroid Prime with a hint of Space Invaders. lol Very rambo-- very cliche..

But hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised and all of my qualms will be resolved. Here's to 2009 and The Conduit. Don't let us down HVS.
