Roll Eyes I don't think so. I don't like it when they crop their ears though. It makes them look mean. Pits are great pets unless they are trained to be O-rings. They're smart and loyal as hell. Super playful. They just have a bad rep. Any dog can be an ****.

Given that I am the lawyer for our dog warden, I see a lot of dog cases. I can't count the number of people I've heard say the same thing as you, then get a pit puppy, try to raise it right to be a family dog, then have to get rid of it because it's uncontrollable, or worse yet, it attacks someone. Sure, not every pit has this happen, so you will always have some anecdotal evidence to claim, but it is FAR more common with pits than other family dogs, and the thing about pits is that when/if it does happen, they cause significantly more damage than other breeds.

I've had to sit down and talk to a family while the mother sobbed uncontrollably because the pit they were raising, doing everything by the book, just attacked their baby for no reason at all. It's not fun.

weird. Most people around here have pits. I've never know anyone who was attacked by their family pet. that sounds horrible to deal with man.

I was bit in the neck by a german shepherd when I was a kid. It would have ripped my throat out if someone hadn't stopped it. It was a former guard dog though. Mean mother****er.

I take issue with this statement, by the way. The numbers are far too skewed by the number of people that get pits and certain other breeds because they look tough and want a guard dog, and thus raise it as such. Remember, correlation does not imply causation. I'm not saying its 100% not the nature of the dog. Yes, they are bred to be a more aggressive animal than most, but it doesn't add up to the extreme numbers we see.

Hey there.

I'm glad to see this place still running, albeit a lot more slowly.

I have a little update for you guys. I finished my bachelors in mechanical engineering. I got really addicted to League of Legends for my first couple of years of uni (and didn't do well at all). I got to do a long internship with a company that makes bearings for the automotive and aerospace industries. I met the love of my life. For my last year back at school I did a neat project with Honda to make them a vibration machine for one of their plants in Ontario... under budget and ahead of schedule. Today I started my job as a product designer. I finally feel like a big kid.
